First Time Project

So I'm brandnew into the whole growing community and want to try this. I've constructed a 3x10x9 room in which I will be growing. I am leaning towards a hydroponic system. I plan on using 1000w MH and 1000w HPS for lighting, 2mm mylar, several oscilating fans, etc.

I've done some research but as far as hydroponics I'm a bit uneducated.

I know I will need a reservoir tank, tubing/piping, water pump, etc.

Can I use several 5g buckets connected with tubing?

For example I would have 5 plants in 5 different buckets, with the first bucket connected to the pump, and all the other buckets connected to the previous, and then the last bucket connected to the reservoir.

I hope you get an idea of what I have in mind, and if not please tell me and I will draw out a diagram.
