all looks good at this time. theyre resilient plants so its tough to mess um up. little discoloration will be noticed now and then

Plant looks healthy, and I don't see anything to worry about.
What makes you say 'topping gone wrong'?
Only thing I suggest is keep an eye on your cotyledons and when they have dried up and fallen off, expect to start feeding soon after that, and keep an eye on the yellowish middle veins you see in the center of your leaves.

id cut more off...... down to right above the next node. more if i wanted a mainlining effect. and id stop keeping it so wet that new growth damps off. youve infected your plants. let em dry (possibly peroxide them first) then give em some inoculant tea, a weak b1 containing (root growth/shock reliever foods) plant food at 1/4-1/6 strength and then let em dry again.
what rh? and stop spraying if you are. its killing them. foliar feed a properly dried plant once a week at this size.

Stop misting your plants and let the roots do the work. Also when the water beads the lights are magnified and burns the leaves. As far as the topping, it looks like you have a little while before the new nodes grow out. Just leave them alone now and let them do their thing.

That's a good point to make about water spots bro, but don't worry him about that just yet, as he hasn't mentioned what kind of lights he is using...
Might be CFL's.

OP..........
Check around on Youtube for vids.
Several there about topping and FIM'ing, and you'll see there is no 'right' way to do it, just some more effective than others.

Myself, I've been trying 'FIM'ing' for about 6 plants now, and still can't get it right, and always just end up topping them.
