First Time Hydro

Hi there I have had a few good girls in soil but now I am looking into hydro. I have two rubbermaid type boxes one is 17 liters and the other one is just about 9 liters. One on top of the other. My question is what fert do you use during all the stages? Brand names? Pure water I assume during very early stage. After that I am lost. How often and what PPM (EC)> ? What is your frequency of pump activation? I am tired of how slow soil is. One of my Girls started on valentines Day and is now about 2 weeks away from pulling. Very slow. Is hydro faster?
