Is Fox Farm ocean mix good for Skittles Autoflower

I dont really grow autos but its a decent soil. Its considered on the hot side and with photos it can be too much on young plants and best to use a starter mix 1st

It will work yes. Take bams advice tho, it runs hot.

Will not need to feed for a couple weeks.

It's fine, but runs a bit hot for new plants. You can use it as a starter, but cut it 50/50 with a perlite/vermiculite mix.

Vermiculite is handy In mixes that run a bit hot for seedlings as it acts as a buffer and promotes cation exchange. The perlite will help aerate, and the vermiculite will help buffer and hold onto the over-abundance of positively charged ions in the hotter mixes.

When the plant outgrows it's starter pot and matures enough to take the mix, you can blend up 80% soil/20% perlite/vermiculite for the final medium.

Yeah, I've used it a few times successfully. As others have said, mix in a good percentage of perlite (maybe 25-30%) to keep the medium airy. Those roots need some space to move around and the perlite helps with that.

When using FFOF, I wouldn't feed my autos for about 3-4 weeks...just used plain PH'd water. The soil is nutrient-heavy and can even stunt seedling growth. Happened to me a few times but the plants recovered just fine.

I've read people preffer Happy Frog over Ocean Forest

I typically use a mix of happy frog, ocean forest along with a few cups of perlite. I think the happy frog tempers the heat of the FFOF. Never had an issue, its great soil

How about using collected Rainwater would that do the trick

Can also layer your pot with the ffof on the bottom and ffhf on top.
