Your soil doesn't sound very balanced. I'd recommend looking into the soil mixes others are running before attempting to mix your own.

Watering with a spray bottle seems tedious, I would just water when you can't feel moisture when you stick your finger into the soil. You can also learn to go by the weight of the pot.

No I’ve just winged it abit with the soil but I did do research on the westlands all purpose compost with added ji before hand and what I read every one had a good outcome as I’m in the Uk hard to find the right soil and I’m basically just doing what I watched on you tube or read on here thanks

Yeah I mean I've heard of some people pulling off compost-only grows, but I guess it would really depend on the compost. I have two kinds. One is sheep and chicken compost which I was told could be planted in directly. The other kind is a commercial dairy cow compost which I use at about 30% in my mix. The guy I bought it from was surprised I used that much of it.

Yeah the compost what I’m using has good reviews and is for all type of stages of the plant I will post again in a few days and let you know how I’m getting on thanks
