First Time Grower - The Secret Garden

Hi Everyone-

Here's my grow journal. I am following the https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/168751-aerogarden-guide-faq-v-2-a.html

Here are my supplies:
-Aerogarden
-separate timers for the lights
-aquarium pump and air stone running 24/7
-fan pointed indirectly 24/7
-distilled water
-4' x 8' closet w/ windows covered w/ thermal curtain (i.e. room-darkening)
-Aerogarden Master Gardener nutrients (8mil & 5.5 mil packets)
-thermometer & humidity gauge
-pH tester & up/down
-6500K (1600 lumens) 23w (equiv. 100w) daylight CFLs
-2700K (280 lumens) 7w (equiv. 40w) soft white CFLs
-2 y-socket adapters
-2 desk lamps

I germinated my seed by putting it in a shotglass of distilled water, underneath a coffee mug in the same room as the Aerogarden. Today it had a 1/2" little root, and I planted it in one of the brown sponges included in the Aerogarden.

On a 20/4 timer, I have the Aerogarden lights and 2-6500k CFLs going.
The temp is about 82F, humidity 65%.
I'm going for a personal-sized yield.
I'll update this thread when the process changes or there is any progress.

My first question: should I add 2 more CFLs and have 4 going instead of 2?

2 is fine while they are small add more as plant grows
how many plants are u growing?

im growing with 2 table lamps, y splitters and 4 ,20w bulbs myself just 1 plant but its 12inch high now and i think i need another 2 bulbs

Just growing 1 plant at this time; we'll see how much it yields and then I can decide if I want to start more.

Change your time to 24hr light. And good luck! Add some pics and ask LOTS of questions.

The Aerogarden FAQ says week 0-2 should be 20/4 and that 24/0 is too stressful for the plant.

What does AG know about weed? Mine has been thriving under 24hr light. Seeing is believing.

Well, it's been 7 days and I've got a pretty little seedling! It's a nice dark green and seems to be doing well!

Me too! I got sort of a grab-bag of seeds and I have no idea what they are. I got them in Amsterdam and they're classified as "skunk" weed. But I know skunk weed as really shitty stuff.....I think I paid over $100 for the 5 seeds (I was high, I don't remember) so I'm hoping that the price is indicative of a difference between the Dutch and American definitions of "skunk" weed.

Any weed can be "skunk". $100 for 5 seeds, you have something pretty nice on your hands. I think its time for some more pics!

How should i set up my air stone? Its a long blue stick. I also have a aquarium pump should i remove the aerogarden pump or have them both going?

yeah use both my friend. the more air the better.

Yeah I hope it's good! Although *almost* anything is better than the half-stems shit I'm getting now.
The guy at the shop told me they were 11-week seeds, so they should be ready to harvest in 11 weeks.

That could be...I'm not sure. So many options and information were thrown at me in the seed bank, and I was unable to make up my mind about anything (damn coffee shops hehe!). The guy asked enough questions to determine that I wanted something easy to grow and didn't want their most expensive seeds.

Here is a pic. I noticed that the lowest leaves are a tinge yellow...should I be concerned? Monday will be the start of the 3rd week and according to the guide, I should start nutrients then.

Which pack should I use and how should I dilute it?
