beauties man, pretty soon theyll start shooting new growth out of everywhere and ull be running around them like crazy. so what u decided about topping? also note that since plant have a decent root system, to grow back what u cut down it should take less than a week ;)
Oh nice! Maybe I will top it twice, I plan on topping the pineapple express a lot because we LOVE that strain! I would love the highest yield on that girl!

Right now, I am on a full 24/0 schedule. I will have to move the northern lights when the pineapple and unknown start their light schedules of 12/12 because the northern lights will be behind at that point. The Pineapple is catching up quick.

The northern lights came for free when I purchased the pineapple express auto seeds from attitude.

Congrats on your stinky plants! :p

Got confused and thought the NL was auto. Oops

Since the pineapple is an auto you don't need to change its light schedule to 12/12. They're best grown at 20/4 or 18/6 all the way through.

20/4 can cause a bit problems to forming buds to some strains, 16/8 18/6 recommended to be on a safe side.. but if people have grown this particular strain under 20/4 without problems i see no reason why he shouldnt

I'm referring to his statement about "when the pineapple and unknown start their light schedules of 12/12". The pineapple is an autoflower.

Am I missing something here? It does tend to happen a lot to me lol

Morning Update:

Even being outside of the grow tent, I now smell Unknown. She is vegging away!

Still confused why you're going to switch an autoflower to 12/12. :/ Seems like a shame to me when you don't have to. If you keep a vegetative light cycle until the auto is finished, then switch to 12/12 and finish the photos you'd be better off yield-wise. Towards the end of the auto life you could even pop some more photos and run them 12/12 along side to fill up your tent.

But like I said I could be missing a factor here. Strange when someone says they're going to keep vegging a photo when they switch their auto and other photo to 12/12 lol

Sorry for the NON-Update, I won't be switching the Auto. I found out that it isn't common practice! Don't worry!!! I am listening to you guys!

haha good deal man. ^.^ I'll actually be able to tell you the difference between an auto grown on 20/4 and one grown on 12/12 here pretty soon. I vegged a bag seed along with my autos last grow, so when I cut the autos and switched to 12/12 the space looked so empty. I thought why not and threw 3 autos in there. 2 of them are a strain I've grown before on 20/4.

I followed some 12/12 perpetual operations with autos and photos over at GC. Autos yield less, but because it's 12/12 it allows for a constant cycle of whatever you can throw in there. I just couldn't justify 90 days or more of 12/12 with 400 watts just for one plant. Plus these hot temps were killing me in veg!

yup i totally agree that autos are meant to run not in 12/12. but if i would need to switch plants to flower and would not have extra grow room for auto, i would sacrifice it for the sake of two others..
be careful, do not overveg ur plants, make sure ull have pots to support whatever size ur going for. like i vegged for 7 weeks instead of 5, because of lanky skinny stems i harvested even less than on a 5 weeks vegged plant. and also had a lot of problems and deficiencies.
look man hows the unknown? for me it looks like its ready to be topped. whats ur treatment plan on it? :)

SO nervous to top... I have seen videos and stuff and still feel hesitant and confused.

well nobody is forcing you, its just that you could get more out of the plant with it. also 4 tops would get light evenly, rather than having one tall cola and smaller colas below ;)

hell yeah! :)) I think cut right in the middle between 3rd and 4th node. auxins gets redirected first to top node, then 2nd from top, then 3rd, after you'll be able to pick, remove side branches on that lowest node and leave only on 2nd and 3rd. should be seeing some side growth withing 2 days ;)

also if you want you can try to root that top, just removing lower fan leaves, cutting the very end diagonally with a paper knife and sticking into wet soil, if you have rooting hormone that would be handy, if not, I'd say don't worry, I rooted mine without any hormones. And do some fine mist everytime you pass the grow room, since the clone does not have roots, you want to support it with water. Also mist the surface of the soil.

I topped the very top one Simisimis. I was weary of cutting the plant, maybe when I am more comfortable with growing I will cut.

6-8-10 colas are very inefficient, they do not have space to grow :))) I'd cut it 2 more nodes below If I were you, but if not, then you can pinch side branches of lower nodes, just check which 4 side shoots will be growing fastest and pinch the rest, when they will be big enough to be pinched ;) you'll get used to that when you'll see the benefits, no worries man :))
