first time grower needs advice

hi, ive just started growing.... i have a couple of seedling (just starting to flower a little) i keep them in largish gardening pots on my verander..... i want to be able to keep them under 4 feet... so if i prune them as they grow will they still produce a decent amount of buds...

any advice for a first time grower would be greatly appreciated... thanks

I would suggest reading the GrowFAQ. Lotsa info there. You may want to think about SCRoG ( Screen of Green) for good yeild and a shorter plant or maybe do some LST'ing. How many plants you growing and what type of lights are you using?

You could always just start the flower phase when the plants get 4 or 5 nodes high. General rule is they will double in size once you start flowering till you harvest. So, veg the plant under a 18/6 lighting until its half the height you want it to finish, then start 12/12 flower lighting.

I'm a noob grower, so take it as you will but I do suggest the GrowFAQ for info.

I also recommend reading FAQ. Seedlings don't flower. Go to FAQ click on that and then click on pruning. That will list several items you should look into any of the items that will give you a shorter plant (FIM, super cropping).

You can FIM and Top to keep height down, but pruning will alter the shape of the plant and create more lateral branching. I would simply stick with topping and fimming as pruning can have unpredictable consequences as it concentrates the plants hormones into the pruned areas.

they arent little seedlings.. like just sprouted, i just call the plants i have that are small *about 30cm tall with a fair amount of leaves) seedlings.... since ive only ever smoked weed and never grown weed before im new to it... would it be wise to post a picture of my plants?

ok... ive started a grow journal..... please be nice... i know im clueless... but im new to it all.... so check out my journal.. ill post pics as they grow and any advice would be great.. thanks

ill admit i didnt exactly know what flowering looked like but i guessed... and the people that have seen my pics on my growing journal said they are flowering.. so i guess they arent seedlings anymore

clipping isnt gonna control height if thats the case wait until they began there veg state and you can bury the first two nodes in the soil im doing this rite now picked the emryotic leafs and the first set and buried the stem it works great keeps plants shorter without any side effects
