How would I Know If I have pests
Oh, they usually let you know. They fly in your eyes or eat your leaves. The bad is when the larvae destroy the roots so your plant just starts dying. But they aren't very common for indoor grows. Just make sure you store your medium indoors and buy from reputable sources. This is my first issue in almost 4 years. Pretty sure they rode in in my last soil purchase from the local hydro shop.

I'm at war with the fungus gnats lmao. I found that incredibly funny for some reason.

But @Gentlemencorpse thank you for providing clear and accurate advice for us new growers without attitude and condescension. It's refreshing and I thank you.
Hahaha it feels like a war man. They don't give up easily.

And I try man. Honestly it can be trying sometimes when you see the same question over and over again. Especially when the question has an answer that could easily be found with a Google search. But I learned to grow on forums too (though it was a different forum, and a long time ago) and at least vaguely remember what it was like to know nothing and have so many questions. And I'm far from an expert but I've learned enough that I feel like I can help folks navigate those early days. After that their on their own haha!

Wow. I have a lot to say to you.
you need to learn to train your plants.
your lights suck. Not being mean. If you use miracle grow you’ve basically messed up from the get go. You need to use PRO MIX potting soil. Miracle grow has nutes in it that release on a timer. You need to have a schedule of feed one day water the next.
you need to know the PPMof your water and the PH and add advanced nutes.

you need to fill the soil the the brim, use painters buckets with holes or grow bags. You need to learn how to top your plants. I’ve just finished this grow and try to salvage what I can and then make the necessary changes.
1. Pro mix 8 gallon or 5 gallon buckets filled to the top
2. PH testing trips your plants need 6.0 PH and when the soil drains check the run off PH make sure it’s in a good level.
3. buy nutrients bloom micro and grow from amazon for 50CAD.
4. read about low stress training and topping your plants, you can’t do it now it’s too late but you need to do it next time so your plant actually has a canopy and not just three thin colas.
5. Do you know the sex of your plants? Have you checked?
6.Upgrade your lights to 1200 watt LEDS minimum for two plants.
7. clean your fans!! Jesus
8. you want a bush not a tree. LST!

You mean clay pebbles? It's basically just to support the plant in certain hydroponics systems. It's completely inert and holds no nutrients.
So I’ve flipped my lights to 12-12 and changed my veg room to flower 24-0.

I’m wondering if I’m using grow bags do I give the plants more water as I don’t notice any drainage.

Id soak em down then wait a week before watering again depending on how long it takes em to dry out...

It's not really more water then a traditional pot of equal size, but they often do take quite a bit at that size pot. I wouldn't stress it too much if they arent drying out super quickly. Don't got watering more now or anything, let em dry out and next time you water try adding a little more is all.
