First Time Grow

This is my first time growing, so if anyone has any tips for me please feel free to share.

Equipment:

2x2x5 Grow Tent
96w T5 Fluorescent Fixture
70 cfm Exhaust Fan
Root Organics Soil
3 Gallon Fiber Pots

Plants:

1 Purple Afgooey

1 AK-47

They are currently on a 20/4 lighting schedule for veg

Let me know what you all think.

i like 18/6 lighting full six hrs of rest doesnt sound like much change but i think the little bit of xtra rest does alot.thats just me though

What nutrients will you be using?

Looks good man. A couple things I would suggest is to place those T5's really close to plants because they are going to stretch if its that far away. The T5's are good because they dont generate that much heat and safe to get close to plants.

Also, get a small fan blowing on them to strengthen the stem.

Other than that looking good bro! Keep it up!

I am currently using Botanicare's Liquid Karma, Pure Blend - Bloom, Pure Blend - Grow

I use the liquid karma as a foliage spray every other day and feed after 2 waterings.

Hope those are good, its what the guy at the shop recommended.

I'll go pickup some ratchet hangers and see what homedepot has for fans after work today, I'll post pix after I get'em hooked up.

Just picked up some light ratchets. Lowered the lights to about 3-4" above the plants.

How tall should I let these guys get before I put them into flowering?

Max 12" (they'll grow to 24" - 36" average in flower or basically triple whenever you flip to 12/12)for 5' ceiling, unless LST'ing then more. Consider how close you want you lights to your colas/buds. I'm a newbie so my advice is not expert or probably accurate as I just killed my Petunia's).

I am really wishing these T5s put out just a little bit more heat, my tent is sitting around 60F. I hear it is good for your tent to be at 75F, not 100% on that one. Although it is starting to warm up, but it wont get that much hotter where I'm at. I have two Purple Urkels coming in later this week. I just hope they are decent clones and wont be that far behind these guys when I add them in.

Should I try to post pics everyday or just like once a week? Anywho here's day 5's!

Man get you a $20 shipped or local mini heater, works wonders, Good thing about T5's colas can almost touch! Just cough up the change and understand its an addiction. An addiction to naturally helping your loved one thats been in pain for 12 years...... my .02 anyways... :weed:

Last night the Afgooey was a bit droopy, so I gave it some water and a quick misting of foliage spray. When I woke up today it was standing up tall and looking great!

The Afgooey has about 4 shoots budding right now, while the AK-47 is still just staying pretty much the same.
