First time grow, purple kush journal

Little update, I've been dealing with heat in such a small space and all the lights, so I'm going to be building a larger cabinet and switching to LED, 2x 55w panels.

thanks, heat's become a real problem once i added more cfls. Can't wait to switch to a larger space and LED's.

Getting big

1/4 strength Fox Farm nutes for both plants today. temps got up to 88 F. I know this is a purple kush but do the stems have too much purple in them?

Plants are still vegging, planning to switch them in the next 2 weeks.

Got another clone today from the co-op, it was called just Kush so I'm assuming OG Kush? I didn't ask at the time but I'll probably ask next time I go in. So currently have Purple Kush, Blue Dream, and Kush vegging them until I have my HPS setup. my new cabinet dimensions are 22" wide, 18" deep, 60" tall...so I plan to have a 40" hps flower on the top and 20" cfl veg/clone on the bottom. this is only going to be a personal medical grow.

I'm sure the purple is normal

Varies on plant and light source, as well as airflow, etc.

Easiest way to tell is put your hand there... if you feel noticeable warmth from the lights right away, it is too close. different lights heat differently, even within the same batch.

Up nitrogen content a bit, I have seen many various purple kush strains, but that looks like classic nitrogen deficiency. If new growth is green stemmed, try increasing nitrogen content slightly. Keep using a higher nitrogen content fert until a week or two into flower then phase down to a high P-K content fertilizer, and all but eliminate nitrogen, till the last couple 2-3 weeks, then go straight high P-K with little to no Nitrogen.

...LOoks good for what you said "to get comfortable" Cfl's set up the right way can veg a closet just fine. I set up a friend who veg. all the way with cfls six lined up in a box we made then wired all lights into one connection in a box that shit works great. here is a pic of cfls, then when i moved them into 600 watt hps. last pic is my set up. when u can ditch fox farm "DO IT!", get a 2 part base and get a few more key things make sure you phosph load your bloom second week as well as a few more things always use carbo load with bloom as well as a few more things, and you cant go wrong. best thing u can do is what you are practice will post bloom table from another location...
