First Time Curing Help

Hi, guys. This is my first dry/cure, as stated in the thread title. Well I've only had these buds drying since last night. The buds do not feel wet. Moist? Eh. They're definitely sticky. The room they're drying in is air conditioned (it is the same room where my grow tent is located). I'm just trying to figure out if I should go ahead and jar up the buds to begin the curing process. I know it seems early after only drying for one day... but like I said, they don't feel wet. Just... sticky. Any help or suggestions would be welcome. I know, I know. I'm such a noob :P Thanks in advance, guys. *edit: I do not have a hygrometer that will fit into the jars, nor do I have any humidifying/dehumidifying stuff to put in the jars with the buds. Also, the smaller stems aren't snapping. I'm asking because the buds fell kinda dry.

The buds are drying and they still need time so I wouldn't recommend jarring it now. IME, jarring early leads to a grassy smell that takes forever to go away. Read this thread for some pointers.

Thanks, Joe. Yeah I'm gonna wait a few more days until the smaller branches can snap for me. Glad this one finished early so I can get a feel for it before the other 3 are ready. Appreciate ya. :joint:

Dark area with dehumidifier set to 50%. The temp should be near 70 +/- a degree or 2. You don't want to dry to fast. Hurry it and it will smell like hay and taste like crap. Before it completely dries out put it in mason jars. Then burp them - open for a few minutes then close again 2-3 times daily. There should never be water/condensation on the inside. If so it didn't dry enough and needs to be pulled out ASAP!

I don't have a dehumidifier for curing. I do have one in the grow tent though. Thanks for the advice on moisture/condensation. I will be keeping an eye out for that now.

Cutting corners on the final product isn't a wise idea. You've gone this far see it through properly. Once it goes hay it's game over but you can smoke it. You just won't like it. If it gets mold or worse starts to rot. You can't even smoke it.

Get one of these at home depot for $10 and take the guesswork out of it. Take several readings during the day and night, the meter includes a 24 hour hi/lo for both temp and humidity.

I usually shoot for 60 - 70 degrees and 50 - 60% humidity. I dry thin colas for approx 3 - 4 days and fat ones for 4 - 6 days in those conditions, then dry trim and jar. If buds moisten up much (which they usually do) dump them into a paper bag for 8 hours, then back in the jars. Once the buds 'clink' around when you spin the jar, 2 more weeks of opening twice daily and leave the top off for an hour IF you have buds still sticking together.
