First-Time 5gal DWC test-run! Slight problems?

Hello everyone!

I have decided to give DWC Bubbleponics a try to get used to playing around with hydro. I am using 5Gal buckets with Tetra Dual 4watt air pump and circular airstone inside.

This is a test run Im doing just to get used to germinating seeds in hydro and get the feel for how to make hydro work for me! The seeds i used were from my last coco crop, they are GH Big Bang x Seedsman Northern Lights.

I have the 2 plants in one bucket, and while generally i know this is not a good practice, keep in mind this is only just a test run and am not concerned about even pulling a harvest from these plants, just to get a feel for hydro and adjusting ppm/ph, so that when my Sugar Haze and Thai Haze X Skunk #1 are ready for clone cutting, ill already have a gooid idea on how to dial in the environment I have to work with.

However, while i was away from work for the week when i got home i noticed slight discoloration in the plants, and so far ive only narrowed it down to Magnesium or Iron deficiency. I adjust the PH to 5.6, and re-adjust when it reaches no more than 6.2. I am using Dutch Nutrient Farms 2 part formula currently (cheap for the test run) at an EC of 1.35.

Any suggestions on the cause of this, or things i may do to correct it?
(incase the pictures are not good enough -- the leaves slightly curled, a few slight brown sports, as well as the "green" color is not consistent..dark/light patches)

Easy mate i'm not 100% but it looks to me like a little bit of nute burn and i think your EC is a little high at 1.35 for that sized plant, how old are they?
I'm running a EC of 1.0-1.2 for my plants and i'm 3 week in flower, they are 7 weeks old and i noticed a little burn on the tips on mine, whats happening with your EC/PPM is it rising or falling or is it staying the same?
I would suggest dropping your EC/PPM down to 1.0 and see what happens then ok.
You also need to take one of those plants from your bucket as they are different strains so will require different EC/PPMS,you can't put 2 different strains into 1 bucket and expect them to want the same levels of feed, you'll cause yourself problems .

It looks like you're using rockwool? That shit holds water like a mother fucker and usually causes overwatering

Here shortly i will change out the water, adjsut the PH to 5.6 and the EC to 0.5-0.8 and see what happens

Yes i used rockwool to germinate the seeds then just threw them into hydroton. I didnt know what else to use. I think i am going to give Rapid Rooters a try though next time cause rockwool is hard to figure out. Ive drowned seeds, ive dried out seeds...its very hard to use for me.
