first pc grow box

so i finally decided i was going to build a pc grow box. the entire thing cost me $4 dollars to build and the money was for the fans, everything else i already had. it's a soil grow. for the soil i used dirt out of my dads garden area because of all the chicken shit that is mixed in with it. yes the shit is aged so it wont burn my plants. i figure its good soil my dads tomatoes are 7 foot+. for mylar i used some doritos bags. pots are the bottoms of pop bottles covered in 2 layers of duct tape to block light. the lights are 2700k cfls and it will be 12/12 from seed. i think thats about it. attached are some pictures.......................do you thing this setup will do ok.

How many lights?

3 2700k cfls that are 27 watts each i believe

I'm new also but from what I've read you should be fine with 1 plant with that, might need to add more later to flower it though. Good luck

im germinating 5 seeds. the seeds are all the same unknown potent strain. i cant wait for this to get going good

five seeds? thats alot for your box.

You might wana move those lights Alot closer buddy, your sprouting will streatch. as far as lights go, get 13 bucks and go to your local store and buy a 42 watt cfl 27k. to add to it and you will be satisfied. And if you plan on growing 5 little babies invest in 4 more 42 watters. More the marrier Check out my baby she now has 154 watts of actuall cfl
It has about 12k Lumes altogether. on one plant. I even plan on adding more to fatten the buds. I'll be watching

i didnt plan on all 5 of the seeds successfully germinating...............as for stretching, ima set the pots on shit until they are in the right range............im gonna plant the first 3 that germinate so that if 1 turns male i'll still have 2 females or if 2 turn male at least i got 1 feamle but if they are all male im gonna be pissed and sad

grow them anyway and turn them into hash, but I also think you will need more power, even for 2 plants

im lsting for sure, i im going to get some chicken wire soon to scrog..........there is not really room for another light, i may be able cram one in there but i dont have another socket thing now. next time i get some chips im gonna put more mylar in the case.

you need 65000k. 27000k is for leaf and bud growth AKA flowering. 65000k is for stem and root growth aka vegitation.

27k causes stretching and bud growth, 65k is for foliage(veg) Ok bro then get 42 watters you should have more light. Do what you gotta do even if its adding them over time.


and soil helps root growth. Light technically does not affect the roots, just the overall size of the plant, meaning the density, and consistency of the soil and nutriated water and occasional dryness determine root growth. =)

im only using 2700k because it is 12/12 from seed i believe i said that in the first post, as i will probably get some higher wattage lights when i get the cash for it

my first seed cracked, i put in straight miracle grow. my other 2 pots are a mixture of miracle grow and soil from around my house that has a lot of aged chicken shit. the only reason i added miracle grow to those pots is so they will hold water better because the soil around here is mostly clay.

Ahh miracle grow is great. as long as your temperatures dont exceed 100 degrees because the time release ferts will release too quicky and burn your babies.

I was growing a plant in april, and by the time it was 100 degrees my plant died with miracle grow so be carefull.

Nice, hopefully we'll see some little babies in about 48 hours. I put one in soil 48 hours ago and she's already an inch tall

I have a supply of hashberry Fem seed i cant wait to germinate after this.

my box gets warm but i dont believe its in th 100's if i had to guess around mid 80's. i have a 4 inch fan for intake and another one for an outtake, so dont think it will get too hot. would an ounce be an achievable yield with this set up. i plan on getting 42 watt lights when i get the money. as for the genetics of the seeds all i know is i have seen some very large buds from bags i have bought. i'm not going scrog because im going 12/12 from seed.

mabey 3/4 or 3/5. but i really cant tell you for sure.

Just depend how much it grows haha Im not sure if you should LST on 12/12 from seed it may stress it out more. and hermies are no bueno.
