First Organic Grow!!!!

for now just leave em with plenty of light and stuff but u should use the left over 4x4 room for a budding room with less light time but it needs to be colder to represent winter days when they bud but idk ive seen come ppl let em grow for years before they initaily let them bud

I would like to do that but I only have one ballast, maybe at some point I will.

I just booked my trip to Amsterdam!!!!! Now I just gotta wait for the damn money to show up on the bank account, I tried to order it and it wont go through! Oh well I will try agin tonight or tomorrow. On the other hand, my plant has 3 full sets of leaves the 3rd set has 5 fingers on it already!!!!! Workin on the 4th and 5th sets now, got a couple branches starting already. Gave it it's first dose of full strength nutes and seem to be doin well with it. I am amazed at how much of a diff the nuts, soil, and light are makin.

Yea when you get all the stuff you think you need if your like me there is always something you want STILL.We have a expensive hobby!!Sry about my last post not trying to hijack your thread,but i had to call that like i see it!So you just got the 1 ? did you get rid of the other guy yet?Must suck not being able to do as you plz in your own damn place.

Thats no shit!!!! Yeah I only have one I got rid of all the other ones I had started, only reason I kept the one was cuz I had already put it in the soil. Yeah I pulled the male a long time ago and made hash oil outta that bastard Yeah this guy only has a couple weeks left to get out, don't care where he goes just want him gone!!!!

I understand that you need to keep room warm during night. I ran my shit on 24hr light for many weeks, moms, seeds, clones, re-veg.

I am getting male parts showing up on female flowers late into flower (~6-8 weeks), a risky pain in the ass which has dictated harvesting a few days early. I have a friend with 15 years experience growing, most of it professionally for the clubs in the bay area. He is certain it is from 24hr light cycle. I am not positive but it is a common denominator across 3 strains. My other light stress could be from the girls too close to the light as I have heat management down.

I really do not know if this is my problem or not, just passing along a friendly heads up. I am no longer vegging for 24!

I cannot say for sure, but my very experienced bro has not been wrong yet with his advice. It is unnatural and may cause stress. It may depend upon strain also. I vegged for 8 weeks under 24hrs and have stress induced late flowering hermies. This may not manifest in a plant that is only vegged for 4 weeks, as I should have done!

This also may not be the cause...However my buddy had this happen years ago, and only under 24hrs, and not since switching to 18hrs.

It is cheaper (I was just too lazy cuz I use the space the veg plants are in)

Also, I notice growth after dark periods, and gives the plants time to rest?

The other thing I am learning is to ease young plants into strong light, and that some strains respond better to strong light. My Red Diesels are a little light sensitive. Since my lights are fixed (not on chains) I lower the plants as needed, and used to put young plants somewhat close to lights to avoid
the plants "stretching or reaching" for the light. I noticed my buddy puts his new girls in to flower at about a foot tall with other girls in full flower, and it occurred to me that young plants/trees in nature start further away from light source and are often partially shaded by other plants/trees.

So, I really do not know, but it makes sense and if nothing else it saves money.

Yeah that would work, but I got to thinkin about it and I need to find a way to keep it warm down there before I can turn the lights off for any amount of time. With the lights off it drops down to about 50-60 even with just 6 hours. A space heater is what I am thinkin but they use so much damn energy!!!! Any Ideas? That and I would have to find a way to keep the inside of the grow area warm and not the outside, without melting the mylar. Kinda tricky one

Yeah space heaters are too expensive. I don't have any solutions besides opening up the room to the rest of the house a little just to get up to 60.

Anyway I know that lots of people use 24hr light and do not have problems.

If it can happen, it will happen to me.

yeah, already have one runnin in my room. thats the prob is the room is in the basement, and there are no vents/ducting coming off the heater so I can't do that. I dunno will prolly just stick to the 24/hr light cycle if nothin else I will just set it up so it turns off like twice a day for 2 or 3 hours instead of the full 6 at one time, then again I don't think there would be much point in that really. lookin good today about 3-4 inches I added dirt the other day so it shrunk alittle, already have branches comin out at each node.....

Yeah, you are better off just leaving the lights on. You will be fine. I have been divorced twice...bad shit happens to me.

LMAO Thats life

Went and bought a humidifer today, got back from seein my son today and humidity was under 20%...not good 4 veggin, its up to about 28% now kinda wish I had bought the warm mist one instead of the cool mist. I think its gonna cause the temp to drop a lil in my grow area, I may need to put a celing on it the keep more heat in.

ok after lettin the humidifier run for a couple hours the temp had dropped down to about 70 with about 30% humidity. Me and one of my buddies put a top on the grow area and the temp is back up to about 80-82 and humidity is about 50%. only took about an hour for it all to come up, will see how it does throught the night and will check it agiin in the morning. Still need to try to get you guys some pics
