Hey folks,

I wanna start a LED Grow. First of all: Growmau5 nice work man! I like your videos. Some more details about Soil, fans, light-time, fan-time and etc would be nice.

Here is my shopping list so far, is this still state of the art?
HLG240-1050B to power 7(?) CXB3590 3500K CD(top bin?)
I was thinking about the heatsinks "Arctic Alpine 64 Plus" vs passive, but the fan of the Arctic pulls 3 Watt(when run at 12V) so 21Watt per strip/driver. This will reduce the efficiency way more than 1050 or 700mah. So I would went for the 150mm Pin Heatsink. Good, too small, too big?
At first I thought glass lenses would be better but after reading most of the comments here I think I choose the Ledil reflectors.

Which fans for the plants do you guys use? I saw 5W clip fans, but also 100W ceiling fan. Electricity is damn expensive here in Germany.

I would appreciate your suggestions :weed:

Not condemn me for my English knows :dunce:

Keep training,
Maito Guy

Same guy convinced me to switch to LED! I Got a Tasty LED coming in the mail... see how this works! But I am not electrically inclined at least to this level lol

Same thing happened to me, snailing it's way through my backwards country, and just missing the weekend deadline.

I considered going actively cooled, but it's a lot more moving parts and the capital cost gets higher. Everything needs power supplies, etc. Passive seems simpler with fewer things that can break. I bought mine from Cutter and it was easy for a noob. Take my words with a grain of salt, I've yet to even see one in person... I mistakenly bought the 140mm heatsinks, so I probably spent a lot more money than I had to on shipping. I believe the new 111mm are 300g lighter.

LPF11180-CUT. Au$209.65
CUTTER-HS14080P Au$157.50

This is the price for seven(7) heatsinks. That's Au$52 difference. Shipping the most expensive one to me is Au$31.50 less than the cheapest. The CUTTER-HS14080P is rated to 100w, the other to 50w. @1050 mA you'll push under 40w, so... somebody else should tell you if you can put 7 cxb3590 on that driver.
