I had 1 plant that i was going to grow outdoors but it just was not doing well, it was only 3.5" tall with 3 nodes - pretty short.

so i took that plant and put it in a big pot and was going to speed up the process so i put it under:

4 - 13 watt cfl
1 - 35 watt cfl

I wanted to get as much light as possible to the plant so i tried to avoid a dome around the light, that is only good for regular house lights but not for my grow purposes... a cfl has a spiral light pattern and would work more efficiently if all the spirals are illuminating the plant.

here is a picture when the plant was younger and smaller:

I made a fence out of a old book stand, but i find that that is not that good of an idea!

what do you guys think about topping it?
- i was thinking know because that probably will the my only bud, and i was thinking i want 1 big one than 2 small ones, and it would take probably 2 weeks to recover and start to split.

what do you guys think about trimming up the bottom nodes to make light for the other babies?

I don't have answer for you, bud. So why am I posting? Cuz I want to hear what others got to say! I am just got some seeds to germinate, and my small grow spot is just about done. Gotta run to the store and grab the lights tho! Not to hijack, but I was thinking of using 4 23w CFL's myself for 2-3 vegging plants (might just start with two). Yours is looking good though. Looks healthier then your original pic.

Good luck, I am sure she's gonna be a beaut.

p.s. are you using warm light? Or is that just the pictures. From what I've been reading, it's better to have a Cool white or simply "bright white" to replicate summer's color spectrum. Red is for flowering (HPS). But I don't know, maybe it doesn't matter to heavily during veg mode? I know red light from HPS earn itself quite heavy yields though. Way better then CFL, tube flor, and halogen (ha). Anyone else want to chime in?
