first hydroponics

hey guys! :)

i'm thinking about a hydro test ( test out how hydro works for me)
i'm still a newbie to the M.J. cultivation , but i'm past 3 grows, 2 succsesful , 1 turned out to be only male plants ( i have a small grow area, 4 plants fit in just perfectly)
my studies about hydro shows that i get faster yields. i have the patience to wait out the time , which the little princesses need , but it would be a big help to get them a little faster since i'm not living in a financially well balanced family... ( no worry , i'm not starwing ) this ain't the only reason... other reasons are : expanding my knowledge about the beauty of cultivation , and for getting better buds if possible...

i know the basics of hydro, done the research.
but since there are many growers, who are useing the hydro system , with better knowledge, experience , i would like to ask you youre little "hacks" ( like tips or for what to watch out ) because i can't afford a wasted crop... i want to do as many things right as possible for the first hydro grow.

thanks up front! :peace:

get a ppm meter, and then read and educate yourself, reaarch 24/7, even if you research, you will never know what you thought you should have known, experience is everything

Yes, get a TDS (ppm) meter and ph meter, those are the most important factors to maintain for hydro, of course lights are important as well as nutes and temps, any soiless medium can be used, that's your choice, many say hydro is hard to learn but I personally don't think so, I started in hydro many years ago ( and I mean many) not much knowledge back then but if you maintain the two most important factors (ppm's and ph) hydro is not that hard, I grow in 6" pots filled with rockwool grow cubes and feed my plants 2 a day, hand feeding, no pumps, I use GH flora series and happy with it, best of luck in you adventures.

thanks man ! :D

first i will try the "bucket" version , with onyl one plant ( for experimenting) no waterpump... roots growing underwater with airpump-airstone. how often should i change the water
i read that 10 days , other point of info i read 3 days , other point of info i read 20-25 days, this is a big range of time from 3-25 days... and i'm not sure , so i would like to ask you... How often should i change it ?:D

10 days is a good guide, but it depends on the size of your res.
I try and do mine every ten to fourteen days, and I use a big res. I top up every day or two, so I have been lazy at times and gone about 3 weeks without a problem.
