First hydroponic grow room build

Flora Flex driper trays
EcoPlus Eco1110 submersible pump & hose
790 CFM 8” in line (not yet installed)



I still plan to obtain a dehumidifier. I have one window unit AC, and plan to place a second for the summer. Not ideal, but it’s what I can do. I’ll be extinguishing some light leaks for sure.

Planning to run the in-line out the window, attached near ceiling to capture hot air.
Room is 12.5x12.5x9, but my understanding is that I need only worry about CFM formula for the actual grow area? For now it’s just a 3’x8’ tray. How many plants can I place?

I wonder, will this pump be alright? I plan to use a two-way shutoff valve attacked to two hoses which would then attach to the bubblers.I’ve just beendoing a lot of guesswork, and decided to create an account here for some assistance. Will keep everyone updated. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

What up buddy looks good! I just built my own too. It's a 7 x 10 open loop grow room. So in retrospect I maybe would've done a sealed room with MH bulbs in tube reflectors to pump out the hot air bc right now I have 2 SF7000's and they produce heat not a ton but it does and it's a pain in the ass to control my environment. Even though I've dailed it in now. The best fan unit being that I've owned vivosun and ac infinity now, I'd stick with the ac infinity. It has a temp and rh controller (if you buy it also) that regulates the fan speed to remove hot air and high humidity. Which is great bc it keeps my AC from kicked on too often, saves electricity that way. I also would've put all my appliances outside of the grow room and connect flex hoses to the room with a wall pass-through to give me more walking room inside the grow room. Although I did put my stock tank outside to make adjusting pH, adding nutrients and removing water from the system alot easier. And I would've opted for more lighting or better lights like the SE7000 or the spider farmer 1000w led commercial light. But it wasn't in the budget nor was it even available til 2 months after I bought what I currently have. And the hydroponics system I did was a 10 site DWC system. Originally I wanted 12 sites but my room was too small for that. Each plant will be separated by 18-20 inches on center from eachother. My fan is vented outside and so is my ac. My humidifier is inside and it's home built btw. I bought an ultrasonic 12 head mister and a computer fan (more or less), a container and pvc pipe and made my own bc I needed alot of humidity fast to fill that room and keep it humid this winter. What else can I tell you? My dehumidifier is out of the room now bc I don't need it but it would be inside on a stool with a hose to a 5 gallon bucket so I don't have to empty it constantly. Oh and lastly I invested in a BlueLab pH controller so now my pH is always on point! I always had a problem with pH drift but now anymore. Best investment I made! Here are some pics. Also I insulated my room with Sheild 5mm reflective foam insulation, works great! Good luck my fellow grower!

Not only that, but it's an 8-year old outdated blurple type light. It's a quality blurple, but still outdated. However yes, it also lacks the appropriate wattage. 750watts seems about right, but I would likely split that between two smaller fixtures for better coverage in a rectangular area.

Definitely :bigjoint: I'm pissed I bought two SF7000'S for my 7x10 grow room and literally a month and a half later the SE7000'S came out! Their PPFD coverage is more uniform. Either way I'm lacking. I think I need two more...sob..lol

Do you have water and a drain in that room or one you can tie into? I did hydro for years in a basement and fortunately there was water and a drain. I had 4 tables and couldn't imagine doing that without water and a drain in the grow area. I know people do it but it can be a hassle.

I have a RO/DI filter to provide water, and currently I drain into my washing machine lol yeah I know I need a drain or even a basement slop sink would work.

The room is next to my restroom, and I have a bucket to pump out of, and a bucket which catches what drains from the table.

Update: 5/5 Oreoz popped about a week ago. One went outdoors. Four will remain in the room. Now popping 3 Penut Butter Breath, and one Jealousy. So far we see 2/3 PBB poking above the rock wool starter cube, and the Jealousy has also begun the germination process correctly thus far.
