First Hydro grow 4000 w flood and drain, DWC prop215

hey guys i wanted to start a grow journal so i can keep track of my plants...... i know i know I'm starting late in doing this but hey better late than never. any-who my system consist of
16 plants in a 4x4 flood tray
18 plants in a recirculating DWC system.
the room is 10x13 using 4x1000 watt lights in 6" air cooled reflectors. as for nutrients i am using the basic advance nutrients 3 part series as well as adding mad farmer N.U.T.S and also mad farmer M.O.A.B as a bloom booster.
if you guys have any other questions feel free to ask, also if you have any suggestions or comments please post cause if im doing something wrong i would like to correct it. so ebb and flow guys, DWC guys, and all other growers out there ill be waiting for comments. thanks for looking into my grow. i have attached some pictures. the pictures were taken 3 weeks into veg. ill post flowering pix here in a lil bit.

alright now lets get everything up to date. i am now 3 weeks into flower and you can see some nice buds on green crack. on a side note i wish i had started this journal back when i started to do the build out. anyways let me know what you think and any comments are appreciated. also feel free to ask any questions guys and gals

How often do you fill and drain?

on the 4x4 i do 2 10 min. floods, one when lights come on and one when lights go off

Checked on my ladies last night during lights on.... man they are putting on some weight. and the room is starting to smell great, though i do believe i have some of that sweet aroma escaping out of my portable AC unit. anyone have any ideas oh how to stop the smell possibly?

i just realized that i did not put what i was growing..... there is 15 green crack and 1 chem dogg on the flood tray and the 18 in the bucket system is L.A. Con.

Do you have a carbon filter??

green crack came from a mother plant at the collective i volunteer for. i love how the green crack grows

yea a i have a carbon filter to filter the exhaust the room air...so thats not a problem but the ac is where im having an issue. its just a faint smell but you can smell it none the less.

Nice man, shit is looking great. You could possibly get a few carbon sheets to put directly on or by your ac unit? just a thought. Had a question though. I recently am starting an ebb and flow system and was wondering, when the roots aren't being flooded, does the light not fry the open roots? Seems like it would in the beginning stages before the canopy covers the lower bottom part of the plant. What do you think?

hey thanks for stopping by and checking out my setup. as for those carbon sheets ill look into that. as for the roots they stay contained with in the rockwool cubes and doesnt really get exposure to light

what do you think I should do if I am using hydroton pebbles? because I think the roots will grow through those and run out through the buckets

so just took some pictures of the room and man does it smell good in there. these pix are from about 5 min ago. the buds are starting to look so good and resin production is in full swing.

jalis lovely setup! you started late but at least you made it man...I am currently setting up a 4k grow as well but I will have 36 DWC 18 for each pair of lights...what are you aiming for in terms of yield from both systems?? last time I did 18 dwc with 2 1k with lights movers and I got almost 5 lbs dry...also i would like to see some more pics of how your dwc system is connected, thanks and cheers!

hey everyone its been a while since i have come and updated anything...... its has been busy lately just life in general and havent been able to sit back and enjoy the little things. anyways time to update to the grow......... I have harvested already and dry weight came out to just over 3 1/2 lbs. my goal was four pounds dry, but i lost two plants during the grow so im happy with my take down. for not augmenting any additional CO2 besides a fresh air vent i think it turned out well. the flood and drain gave me a better yield, but i believe that has to do with the strain cause green crack is a producer. i will post pictures as soon as im done with trimming for my collective tonight and i get home. as for my final thoughts on hows recirculating DWC works, its amazing from growth rate to plant size. but with my limited space for my setup it was very difficult to tent to the plants since i could not work around them. so for my next run i will convert to all flood and drain trays.

thanks for pulling up a chair.......... it towards the end of my cycle but i will be setting up once again and will be documenting that grow like crazy. as far as yield my goal was 4 lbs dry all around, a pound per light. basically what i wanted to see was if i could get a pound out of 6 bigger plants than 16 smaller plants. i think i would have been on or close to that mark if i did not loose two plants during this whole thing. i am impressed with DWC but for my room size and how things need to be laid out... i will no longer be running DWC. if in the future i have more space to work with i would be going back, i love DWC. (especially if you can get 5lbs dry off or 18 plants and 2000 watts of light
) as for the pics of the system i can take those when i get home tonight. are you looking how the entire thing is connected to each other or a specific connection?
