First harvest, did I do okay on yield?

Okay, first time grow and made just about every mistake known to man. but ended up averaging close to an ounce per plant that were predominately sativa (bag seed); a couple brought in 1.5-1.75 oz. If you take out the two that were puny, trouble children, it puts me over an ounce per plant.

I see all these fantastic yields people get and while I know that I shouldn't expect too much for my first 3-4 grows, I was just wondering if that was a decent yield for a first timer?

Man my first grow I only got one female and a little less than a quarter. But that was with cfl. If you got smokeable herb then you did okay

question is how many plants you had.
I got about 230 grams from my first grow using 400W. Last run (my 4th) I got 350 grams off a 400W.
Anything below 0.3gram per watt is a waste of time in my idea. anything below 0.45gpw is lame and you better score high-quality buds in those grams.
0.6gpw is fine for the first few runs.
0.8gpw is good.
0.9gpw is very good.
1gpw means you know what your doing.
over 1gpw is superb.

Those numbers count in about 10% of mid quality herb coming from a weaker plant \ lower buds etc.

Well, thats my idea of it at least.

ya man, if you harvested anything then you did a good first grow. my first indoor grow was fucking horrible! im talkin 2 huge CFL's in little pots of soil... if only momma could see her boy now!

Been away a while; flying under the radar. To answer the questions: Werry420 - Dry Weight McFonz - 8 Plants and 3 tiny ones that i had somewhere else. I ended up with well over 1/2 lb dry and had just slightly over 1/2 lb after curing; some I cured for nearly three months. I would have it sampled weekly (I don't smoke) and once it peaked I'd release it; I take pride in my workmanship and reputation, and strive to do the best I can at whatever I do. Friends said it was the best they'd ever had and I think one part of my naivety paid off in quality; I veg'd almost 7 months and a friend who's an experienced grower that helped me harvest was mind blown that I kept them alive and that healthy for so long. I know now that I don't have to drag it out that long, but.... the more mature the plant, the better it will be is what I hear. He smoked a sample on trim night and was lit after two hits. Gave me major kudos. Thanks for the complements from the other posters; I appreciate it.

First runs you must be happy with every good quality bud. The grams come the second grow.
I did first time indoor with some abused juvenile plants from a friend. I made a mistake myself with putting them in a big pot and not check properly and i got an airbubble underground > 14 grams dry from 1plant
First grow is for learning :P

I saw those pics in your album. they looked pretty good for a 1st time. Maybe try scrog next time just to get alot of buds in that dense zone. and it should def be less than 7 months of veg time. get more cycles in a year than 1. good luck with future projects.
