First Grow!

Long time reader, first time growing!
I feel like I am almost ready to start my first grow but I would like to make sure I'm going in the right direction.
My equipment:
450w HPS/ MH conversion bulb
ecogrower drip system (http://www.horticulturesource.com/product_info.php?products_id=1753)
4x4x7 tent
400 CFM inline fan *activeair*
Cooltube
ph meter
ppm meter
nutrients
30 seeds (bagseed)

A couple of things I'm not clear on:
can I use my 450w mh light to start the hatchlings ?
am I going to need more then the 1-2-3 nurtrients that came with my system?
do I need a fan for intake? if so will a booster fan work for those purposes?
do I need to exhaust the air outside the room the tent is in or can I exhaust into the same room?

Yes, yes, yes you need a fan for intake. Make sure that your exaust fan sucks out more than your intake pulls in. You can exaust into the same room, as long as your tent is sealed tight, but I'd throw some sort of filter in front of your intake fan then to make sure that crap dosen't get in. As far as the nutes, I'd look at whats all in the stuff you have. I would reccommend silica too as a suplemental nute. Builds stronger stems to support bigger yeilds. good luck man!!

You could use the 450mh but as long as u keep it a good distance away. hatchlings as u said, do not need that many lumens in the begining (i learnt that the hard way)

i would recommend cfls at the beginning but there nothing wrong with the mh if u keep an eye on it so the plants dont show signs of stress

am I going to need more then the 1-2-3 nurtrients that came with my system? That will probably do, might if ya goin hydro u might need some added extra's.
do I need a fan for intake? if so will a booster fan work for those purposes?U need an intake fan ,an oscilating fan 4 air movement, u could do with an extractor fan but u'd get away with not havin one.
do I need to exhaust the air outside the room the tent is in or can I exhaust into the same room?
Make sure ya window is open that will b enough to get new fresh air in.

Thanks Rastamoney, I'm taking note of the silica I'm gonna pick some up!

So what I understand is that the 450MH is okay as long as I keep it a good distance away and I pay attention for stress.

Thank you everyone for your quick responses!

I plan to post pictures and start a grow journal as soon as this whole OP goes underway!

Okay! Have my seeds germinating inside some Ph'd 5.5 Rapid Rooter Plugs.

I'm using my 450W MH at 5 ft distance it's also on a 18/6 light schedule I have the fans going and the temps range from 80-85 depending on the time of day.

Questions do I add water to the plugs before they sprout and if so? do I just spray the base of the plug with Ph'd water?
12 hours after the lights went on the Plugs are still damp to touch.

(last thing)
can anyone help me find a cheap intake fan?
