51 days old. 1 plant left, i believe she's female. started flowering at 36 days. LST to keep it bushy and occasional pruning to split growth laterally instead of vertically. it's workin good! female you think? check out the nodes:

cant tell if shes a fem bro. she will have 2 hairs coming out of her internodes looking like a V. all of my plants right now, even 4 days into flowering, i have a little thing thing coming out of the internodes that might look like a preflower but its not. its just a new branch coming in.the preflowers will be tucked in close to the internode and will be a V of pistils. hopefully yours is a fem!

okay shoot. I threw out 3 of my plants thinking they were male already because those did have the 2 balls part. pollen balls that is. and they were taller, and i know males mature faster. this one was shorter bushier and i thought i saw a V shaped pistil but turns out it was new growth of leaves from the node. I'll let you all know when she pushes some buds. Hopefully it is dark enough in my grow room to bud. I'm thinking it's taking a long time to bud up because it's in the attic during daytime is the night cycle for my plant. I do have the holes covered with black trash bag and I divided the room with a blanket to help block any light that does enter, which I have checked the dark room. It's darker than moonlight I believe because I can't see shit.

Last night I worked on making my grow room more light tight. I used duct tape to seal off any corners from any stray light in the room. I also put up another towel. The first towel seperates the room in two from the entrance, and the new towel is right up against the dresser which is my grow box. So the only opening on the grow box is the front, and now there is a dark, thick towel over the front of my grow box. It should be very dark in there for them to bud up, hopefully When I check on them at 8 when my light cycle starts, they hopefully have pistils showing so I know for sure it's female. For the record theres only 1 plant left from 4 I started with which was the plan. Anybody know a good hook up for a Metal Halide setup?

i bought a 250w metal halide(used) setup at a hydro shop for 150 bucks. ballast, reflector, and brand new bulb. I use it for my vegetative stage but a 250 could power 2 plants just fine. and you can get a hps conversion bulb that will work in the metal halide setup. Just look around, craigslight might have some. or check ebay but beware of the knockoff not so good quality setups they have on there. hope your last plant is a girlie. good luck bro

after weeks of flowering and not noticing any preflowering, i figured my dark period was not completely dark so with temps in daytime cool now, i switched the dark period to nighttime and light photoperiod to daytime to ensure complete darkness is available to the plant to force bud. I know I have not been stable with the photoperiod but it's my first grow with bagseed and no nutrients, just trying to get minimal bud first time. Next time I will get Metal Halide/HPS to grow with good seed. would miracle grow work for budding or what is good methods in dirt, like mealworm to help force flowering? Bottle of bloom? What works well with CFL in dirt to ensure flowering?

FERTILIZERS / Food
During our grow cycle the plant likes a fertilizer high in nitrogen. Something like 20-5-5.
It uses the nitrogen for strong stem and leaf growth. After you change over to your flowering
cycle you will want a fertilizer that is high in phosphorous and potassium.
Something like 5-15-15 should work well.
tomato food/ vegetable food its fine

Picked up some nutes for the first time in the grow. It's been on flowering photoperiod since day 36. On day 60 I picked up my nutes from the store and applied them full recommended strength. The next day my plant definitely started flowering female. The white pistils are shooting up at every node. My only concern now is my 4 CFL's. They are all above the plant. What about the buds on the bottom? My plant is so bushy from pruning the light doesn't get through the leaves to the bottom so much anymore. And even if it did, it's too far away to do any good. Maybe I will get more and put the lights on the side of the plant to get into the bottom of the canopy. There are plenty of bud sites, but I'm concerned about light being a factor of bud size. When I start getting big buds, would it be more beneficial to keep the light closest to the buds, or the leaves? I don't know if the buds absorb light or if the leaves still do. If it's the leaves, I can throw two of the 4 bulbs I have now on the sides and the other two stay on top. any opinions? I'll post pictures soon so you can see my bud sites. It already smells of sweet skunk, when smelling the pistils directly. It's great and I'm glad it's female. I will probably keep flowering for about a month, right?

Well it's been a while since I've posted and I wanted you to check out my buds. Here are some shots of the early forming buds under CFL's. Check out the white pistils shooting out everywhere. Notice this is bagseed, under CFLs and no nutrients until flowering phase. How do you like them so far?

i know people say to harvest when about 75% hairs turn orange. but how long is a typical indoor flowering phase? I'm on like week 1 since I saw the first pistils. I know it's not ready yet. just wondering about how many weeks a flowering phase goes through....

It depends on strain, indica/sativa, and many other factors. I'd say anywhere from 9-11 weeks with yours. Get a 60x-100x mircroscope at radioshack($10) and you will be able to tell exactly when time comes...

Satvia: 10-12 weeks
Indica:8-10 weeks
