hi im currently running 2 32w daylight fluorescent tubes in a 4ft fixture both rated at 3300 lumens im wondering if this is enough for vegetation. how close should i keep the lighting to the plant. i currently have my timer at 18/6 heres a pic of my setup

as you can see its ghetto as shit as the lighting is mounted with 2 plastic containers but im workin on it as i go along

ghetto? hey.. I have seen and done waaaayy more ghetto... haha..

those lights will be fine for now, but when they get bigger, you want to give them a little more light so they dont stretch too much and the nodes stay nice and tight.. tight like tiger, if you will...

add a few cfls in there on the sides when they get bigger, and get something around them to reflect the light.. you are losing ALOT of light from not have something around them....

I have done this (talk about ghetto)...

Take some big cardboard boxes... open them up so they are nice and flat.. tape some together, and paint them as white as you can... instant mobile wall/reflector... you dont got too much heat going, so fire wont be an issue.. give that a shot...

but yeah... a little more light will never hurt... and you for SURE need to go with something different for flowering, as those flouros will not cut the mustard...

good luck, buddy..
