First grow - yellow leaves - flowering- pics

First grow. Seed is a girl scout cookies cross with bubba or OG or both. (You see, there were GSC x Bubba, GSC x OG, and then GSC x(OGxBubba) seeds and they all got mixed up.....)

• Seed was started in organic seed starter soil, 3 or 4 weeks of 18/6 light cycle under two 2ft vegging florescent lights.
• Seed was then transplanted to a half gal container. Soil mix: 1/3 Fox Farm, 1/3 Perlite, 1/3 Vermiculite; moved under 250 watt Metal Halide.
• After transplant, attention was not really paid to it... around New Years I noticed it had grown enough and showed it's sex as female.
• It's still in half gal container and I don't think I feel too comfortable of it being a good idea to transplant so late even though it would probably love a 2 or 3 gal pot.
• Considering - do not have an HPS, which from my understand is the flowering light, I think the actual buds look awesome... but it's small, probably due to pot size and lack of nutrients.
• PLEASE explain the yellowing leaves. If i did not give enough details please ask me, so I can help you help me get to the bottom of this. Can't wait for the next time. Let me have your input please. Thank you for your time.

Well no where have you mentioned feeding it, so I would assume it is starving to death and consuming it's leaves.

not only does your weed need some nitrogen so do your tomatoes.

needs nitrogen, HPS light, and a bigger pot lol

tip the plant upside down with your hand flat on the surface and the stem between your fingers. tap around the pot and just pull it off. if you transplant this whole undisturbed root mass as is into a bigger pot of soil there will be NO transplant shock. your bud isnt going to be worth shit in the end if you dont get a HPS bulb in there real soon. buds are most likely going to be very airy and weigh nothing. at this point you need to feed that plant a good general purpose nute. something with a NPK like 5 - 5 - 5

yellowing of the fan leafs is normal in some strains late in the flowering stage. But it looks like your plant has a few more weeks to go. what nutes do you use?

Are you confident that transplanting this late on in flowering won't hurt it? Because I have a 5 gal pot it could go in first thing in the morning, I would just rather get a little good smoke than risk fucking it completely up. The past two waterings have had 1/2 tablespoon of Fert w/ 2-5-3 NPK. It's the only fert/nutes I have to use right now.

i think that you may have to back off on the hovering over them they are a weed and you may just need to let it grow Dannyboy602 help me learn that one

i dont think that you have much of a choice transplant that baby and let her sit for a little while longer she'll be ok and get a light!!

How bad would it be to finish out with MH... the HPS i have is way too big for the spot. It's a 1000 watt cool tube hps... it'll be used in about 2 or 3 months... but I won't have a spot for it until then. I have two 55 watt flowering CFLs I could throw on the plant for now, I think, if that would help?

anything in the right light spectrum is going to be better than nothing

Thanks for everyones input. I transplanted the plant into a 5 gallon bucket this morning so hopefully we will see some bigger growth popping up in a few days. I'll post a pic in a day or two. Transplant went smoothly though!
A friend is tossing me some bags of FoxFarm Ocean Forest to use for next time. He swears by it. Have any of you used this stuff before?

You don't have to get an hps on it, but it would be a good idea. Theres nothing wrong with finishing it with your mh and getting a grow under your belt. I gotta get a hps. You might look into cutting the roots down the side's. 4 cuts with a clean razor blade about 1/2 inch deep. It will help with the plant being rootbound.

Aaaaand here we are, a couple days after the transplant. She's now in a 5 gallon. Seems like she's thickened up even if only a little. Should I carefully cut off those dead leaves on the bottom? What do you think? Keep in mind it's a first grow and only under a Metal Halide....

hey man lookin a lot lot better since you added those lights and transplanted, I'd give her some vitamin B and also some potash of potassium and seaweed extract,
the B will stimulate hormones and the potash will add potassium and the seaweeds just a awesome tonic for any plant!

Prior to your comment about vitamin B, I've never heard of using it so I did a little research and can't find much information that is solid about using it for plants. Do you have any good links you could post for reference on this? Many sites I saw when trying to research it were full of skepticism about it so I'm a little iffy about doing that quite yet... I am no expert so I'm a little scared of hurting my girl.
However it is always great to have your input and opinion and I would love to look into vit B more and figure out what is up with it. Happy growing

Well... I seem to have run into a problem!!
I noticed some gnats flying around today... How big of an issue are these and what can I do to get rid of them... This lady is gonna get pulled in 3 to 5 weeks and I'd hate to have her get messed up from some gnats before harvest. Help me please... Thank you.
