First grow - WW, BB, Purple Kush

Hey all,

This is my first grow, but it's hopefully gonna turn into a perpetual grow. I'm not sure how that'll affect posting. Anyway, I'm a little bit in right now. I'm gonna try and post pics from start until now and then keep updating.

I'm in the middle of constructing a grow room so these plants are in a temp location.

1 400 W light (Son Agro bulb)
- will be getting 3-6 more lights in the next week or two
- lights on 24/0 schedule

Happy Frog soil
Fox Farm: Grow Big & Big Bloom

2 White Widow from seed (6 weeks)
2 Big Bug from seed (4 weeks)
2 Purple Kush from clone (2 days)
1 Lemon Cake (local strain) (2 days)
4 first gen clones from the WWs

Planted 4 BB and 3 WW. All germed, but 2 BB and 1 WW didn't get past seedling :(

These are the problems I was having with my plants :( Unfortunately I cannot find my 1st week pics or the originals of these ones which I used for posting questions.

The WW named Sky was presumed dead for about a week, but I kept watering her and she's doing great now ;p

Anyone know what causes that wrinkling in sky2? One of the BB had it too when it was growing.

Sounds like you've done your research. Great strains, good light, and awesome soil/nutes. Im sticking around for this one. Just waiting on pics, we all love pics.

Good Luck

Edit: damn you posted pics as I was asking for them... Haha

These are the week 3 pics of my WW named "jazzy" She has those weird spots and the lower leaves are dieing :/ Someone suggested that it was the Fox Farm Grow Big and that I should supplement with Cal Mag. Again, I wish I had the originals.

Here's my lego version of the grow room I'm trying to build. It is to scale with 100px = 1 foot. Yellow is lit area from the lights. the green are plants in final pot.

Once it's done, i'll post a pic of it too ;p

Here are my week 4 pics. I began taking more overall shots here.

There's a nice shot of the spots I was talking about on the WW.

One of the BB, named Babe, has weird growth. Sky also had this lopsided growth. I'm wondering what I'm doing to cause it :/

It's not bad anymore, but made me a little nervous. Any feedback on this would be appreciated!

Ok, on to week 5. I have the originals and some experience what that camera now ;p Hopefully the pics will stay fairly decent from here out.

I thought the file names would be shown somewhere. I guess you don't really know which plant is which at this point. Lemme explain...

The two big plants are WW. The one which is 778x800 is a top view of jazzy (she's on the bottom left if you notice the pots are in a square). Her sister, planted at the same time and presumed dead for about a week, is named Sky. She's the bottom right plant. Jazzy was an extremely stringy plant. She sprouted about 34 hours after I put her in water (in the cube for about 12 hours before popping out). I had no lights yet! lol, they were coming in 2 days later (thought they took 3 days to pop :/). Anyway, at one point she was in a z shape because it was too hot in the humidity dome and I had to leave it across the room. She's doing very well now (aside from the spots).

The two BBs are Burnice and Babe. Burnice is the first picture with filesize 363kb. Babe is the other little one who started growing all funny. Currently their leaves are a little wrinkly :/ See next post.

Ok, so this brings me up to date as these pictures were just taken today ;D

The girls just had some clippings taken (WW) and I happened upon some purple kush and lemon cake ;D My garden is currently full up at 12 plants. Now I need to start finding some patients so I can have more :D!!!

I'm also attaching another picture of the spots on jazzy. This one is trying to show what kind of leaf it is affecting. Only that kind of branch (lower part of the node with a single terminal leaf, no side growth at all). There are 3 leaves like this which have spots. Non of the others do.

The BB plants are a little wrinkly near the base! I'm not sure if that's normal or not :/ My WW, Sky, had that problem but it seems to have gone away. For all the problems I've had, the plants seem to be doing fairly well, I think ;p

More pics ;D First sign of roots from the Sky clone - excited about that.

I've begun using CalMag in hopes of thwarting the yellow spots. Someone else suggested that I'm over feeding the plants, but I see yellowing leaf tips :/

The Big Bud plants still seem to have wrinkly leaves. If anyone knows what might be causing that, I'd appreciate it! (babe and burnice are the BB)

The room is still being constructed so it's hard to maneuver where the plants are and I still need more practice with this camera :/

The first phase of my grow room was build yesterday morning... 8am... lol, what pot head gets up that early on a saturday ;p

Anyway, I was very happy with how quickly it was put together and how well build it seems. I didn't have all the materials required to complete it (nor did they have the tools), so next weekend we're finishing it. My camera's batteries ran out so no picks just yet.

On another note... never get saw dust on your plants... i've washed all the leaves 3 times and there is STILL saw dust on them... lol

Next day or two I'm planning on flushing my plants and giving a good washing! ;D

On yet another note: one of the BB plants seems to have topped itself (there are 2 main stalks) which is why it was so bushy looking and even smashed right into the side of the container at 3 weeks. They look like their leaves are plastic, but it seems do be doing well.

I'll post pics soon!!!

Well... finally got batteries for the camera ;D

First, I'll upload the pics from Nov 21. This is the day my grow room was built. This is also the day my plants got saw dust in them :bigjoint:

Anyway, there are some pics of them getting a bath and some pics of the room. There are more/better pics from this week.

Ok, I'm going to break up the pics for today into 2 posts ;D I really can't wait til I get a good camera for the holidays! First I'm going to post my clones and their roots. They are 12 days old right now (were removed from the mother 12 days ago).

Ok, now for lots of pictures of my plants. Did I mention that I can't wait until I get a good camera for the holidays?

Also, how do I get more people to watch/comment ;p I am mainly doing this to have a very detailed log of my first grow so I can learn for future grows. Also, having an online reference is nice so I can show off a little ;p

Maybe I'll have to upload only the BB in this post :dunce:

Hey all!

I just purchased a new 600W ballast and bulb and reflectors... $500 X(

Anyway, hopefully this weekend I can begin flowering finally. I have to wait and see if my clones take before I make the shift. They are not looking happy!! :( I never thought I'd be saying this, but Jazzy is getting too big!!! I really just want to put her into flower now T__T

Anyway, just posted this so that I could make a record of when I bought the lamp. My camera broke so now I have to wait to get a new one before I can take more pics :'( I really like taking pics of my plants :/

BANZAI! I got a new SD card and the camera is up and runnin again. Tried to split my room into 2 so I could start flowering, but failed :/ I'll just have to wait a little longer. I need to see if these clones are gonna take ;D

First up, my white widow plants jazzy and sky. These are from yesterday. I will be posting again tonight with more pics of these ones. I took clones yesterday after these pics.

clones taken last night. I wonder if I did it right @__@ First crack at cloning ;D

I took the terminal leaf + 1-2 extra nodes as my clone. Then i removed the lowest set of leaves. I took them from the bottom branches of the mother plant. 7 from jazzy, 5 from sky.

In the next 1 - 2 weeks, I'll be taking some clones from babe and burnice ;p

Ok, so now for todays pics. I'll start off with my first set of WW clones. They seem to be doing OK I think :?:

I think the sky clones are doing much better. They were taking from my thicker branches than the jazzy clones were. these clones were taken 11/15 and transplanted 11/28. Hopefully my new clones will do better since the mother plants are 9+ weeks old instead of 6ish. We'll see.
