First Grow with 250 watt Hps

I wouldn't worry to much about the bud production this early. My plants usually don't really start filling out until about the second week. Not sure how much more you expect to achieve with a CMH bulb but don't know much about them except that they don't work with digital ballast.

What's nice about the cmh bulbs is that you can use it for the whole grow, veg and flower. I've also heard that they run a little cooler but I'm not 100% sure about that. I have a standard magnetic ballast for hps. http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-HTGSupply-250-watt-High-Pressure-Sodium-Grow-Light.asp <<< That one to be exact. So I'm pretty sure I can use that ballast with the cmh bulb. Plus a cmh 250 bulb is only like $60 at my local hydro store, where as a hortilux is like $90. https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/283545-ceramic-metal-halide-cmh-thread.html There's a thread with a lot of info on it if you are interested. I'm going to see how this grow finishes then go from there. Depending on money at the time of my next grow, I may just use this setup again. I will probably be able to get better results the second time around since i know what i'm doing and I have some better seeds.

Ok coming up on 3 weeks of flowering now. 18 days to be exact. They are really starting to fill out now. The lst'ed plant is really going and the topped one seems to be really stretched. The third plant was tied down once then left to grow. They stretched a lot and started to run out of room so the past few days I've been tying them down some and they seem to be fine actually seem to like it. I'm hoping to harvest some time in mid october, but I figure that with my luck they will be a plant with a really long flowering time. Time for some pics. have you used anything other than the cmh? if you have did you notice a drop in temps after the switch? Better yield?

At 5 weeks flowering now. 2 of the 3 plants are budding like crazy, while the third one seems to be hardly budding if not just starting to bud. Just from looking at these buds i'm thinking these are going to be at least 10 week strains. What are your guys thoughts?

Just started 9 weeks of flowering. The topped plant has some big colas, three of which are the size of soda cans. it's seems to be the farthest along, and has one or two hairs starting to change. The older more lst'd plant is doing very well also but seems to be more evenly spread with the buds. It also seems like it's a few weeks behind on flowering compared to the topped plant. And the third plant is the farthest behind but finally starting to fill out some. From the looks of it, it seems as though i'll be harvesting the topped plant first, with a few weeks between each plant. I can't wait to finally harvest. Going to start building my drying box this week since i can't use my growbox as originally planned due to the different harvest times. SAM_0086.jpgSAM_0087.jpgSAM_0081.jpgSAM_0084.jpgSAM_0082.jpg

haha sorry. i've been really busy with school and they've just been maturing really slowly. the largest cola is about 50% amber hairs and others are 50% or less so i'm waiting a few more days. i'm trying to get my drying box together before harvest. the one topped plant pretty much dominated the box making the other two not as nice. Here's some pics. I'm going to try getting some closer pics but it's hard to with the camera i have. SAM_0110.jpgSAM_0107.jpgSAM_0093.jpgSAM_0095.jpgSAM_0098.jpgSAM_0109.jpg
Sorry if they aren't the best quality. It's hard to get really good photos, and I'm practicing. I'm probably picking up a better camera this christmas that i can get a macro lens for. I also just noticed today that there is some purple in the buds. That's always a nice surprise. I'll keep taking pictures and see if i can catch some of the purple in them.

Ok so i finally harvested saturday 11/26/11. They were in flower for a little over 12 weeks. One plant looked really good and one was just starting to take off, and i don't know why it took so long. i think it had some nutrient problems. The other was in the middle. I had to cut them all down because i'm going out of town in 2 weeks and i need it dried and at least in the curing stage before i leave. I'm using the cuttings and not as nice buds for some butter and maybe oil. Most of the buds seem kinda airy though, any thoughts on this? I really wanted some hard dense nugs. I'm still proud of my first grow though and can't wait to get started on the second grow. Now onto pics.
