So i planted a bagseed last month and sadly just found it to be a male :( I thought i was doing so well , it looked happy and healthy but I was using MG potting soil... On the second time around, I plan to use ocean forest foxfarm soil & the same cfl lights I used for my first try.

I wanted to know how often I should water in Ocean Forst and if I should add some Perlite (organic) . Actually, ill take any advice from anybody indoor growing with CFLs, and foxfarm soil lol This seed I will be planting is a bag seed as well ... do bag seeds usually turn hermie ? or does that have nothing to do with it... anyway, thanks in advance :-P

FFOF does not need perlite, you will have get use to the Container weight dry and wet.Its very hot and can go up to a month with no nutes.

Stress and light leaks cause plants to herm.

def my problem with the first plant ... i had it in the cornr of a room lol but how do i avaoid light leak? now i have a portable closet covered w mylar inside and a fan . Maybe this enviroment will be better ? Also, with FFOF i will never have to add nutes or i eventually will?

Your soil didn't make the male. Nature did. :) I, too, got scuppered by two unruly males on my first grow! And now I have two beautiful ladies. Just luck of the draw, vbella90! Good luck with this one!

And I think, though I might be corrected, that hermies mean the plant shows female as well as male, which wasn't your situation.

was your plant a male or herm? MG had nothing to do with it being male, its just not the easiest medium to grow with. sounded like you did alright with a happy and healthy male. sorry

i have had quite a few bagseed turn hermie but that was early on in my learning stage so it could have been stress or genetics. i dont do bagseed anymore. if your growing regular seeds its a 50/50 shot at male or female so always start more than 1 seed.

also agree with Beech above.

18/6 for vegging and when you go to flower is when you need to check real good for light leaks.

Change photoperiod to 12/12 for flower.

Yes,after a month to 3 weeks i start adding nutes,If your going Organic get some fish emulsion.Earthworm casting are great for the soil and Bat guano for flower will give you some very tasty nugs if you cure it rt.

If your going to use FFOC you might want to mix it with some FF Light Warrior. Sometimes FFOC can be a little too "hot" for seedlings.

Never used FFOC,i have heard of the FFOF being to hot for clones and seeds but ive used it for 5yrs now and have not had any problems.
