Hello, This is my first post after lurking for some months.

Started growing a Snow white plant from seed which i'd like a take a clone or two when ready.
I dont know much about growing so any help/ Advise would be great!:bigjoint:

I'm growing in a box whick is 2.5 foot x 2 foot x 3.3 foot hight and running 4-26watt clf bulbs and 2, 2 foot tubes running up the sides. i know they are not the best to grow with but they are my only option atm.
Runing p.c fans to keep heat down, 2 sucking in, 1 blowing out and 1 keeping the cfl's and plant cool.

The seed broke the surface of the soil on sunday monring, so have been growing now 5 days. She look good i think but like i said i dont know much and any help would be great.

Are bulbs any good?
So i'm open to all suggestions

Il keep you updated through out the grow!

Lights look ok. They would be more efficient sideways.
It is generally better to have more air out then in IMO.
Any info on the soil?
Plant is looking good and right on track!
Keep updating and more/better pics will mean more/better help.
Keep growing!

The soil is by J. Arther Bowers, I got it cheap, any good?
Great to hear that it's looking good!

does anyone have any info/ tips on this snow white strain?

It is a female seed but will i turn out Female? What are the factors?
What about the fan i have mounted between the lights that is constanly blowing on the plant and lights, is it ok to have it on the plant 24/7?
Didnt notice how crap the cam waS, sOZ

lol man that would be one hell of a seed to turn the grower female

as for growing under 24/7 lights, it isnt bad...i did it my first grow and it worked great, but i think my plants all respond better under an 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule...which is what i run now till i go to 12/12. do whatever is best for you...

good lookin start!

The fan should be pushing the air away from the plants so you should turn the fan around too.

I think you are safe doing 24 hour lighting too and as for reflectors there are a few guides on here somewhere that say how to make them from soda cans. I made my own reflective hood from a tupperware container and some mylar.

If you can't find a good guide then PM me and I can show you how I made my hood.

Good growing! :-P

So i want 1 fan sucking air in and 2 fans blowing out, and the other fan sucking away from the plant right?
Does the plant look a little stretched? and leaves seem to be at a 45degree angle upwards.
Also when should i transport to a bigger pot, 3Gallon?
im also at 80 degrees temp, is that ok?

Thanks for the great replys!!!

Yea it's not that you want the fan away from the plant you just don't want it blowing all of the heat from the lights at the plant.
The leaves look fin you could move it a little closer to the lights though as long as it doesn't above 85*F on the plant.
It isn't strectched at all it is perfect.
You should probably wait maybe about a week to transplant. I just wait for my plant to stop growing fast and then transplant it but it would be better to move it sooner.
80 degrees is as close to perfect as you can get!

Done, I got the 4 lights 1inch away from her now.
Im feeding her aged water ever 2 day roughly, soil seems a dry now, should i water her?
There is no point having my 2ft tubes on if they are 1ft away is there?

If the soil is dry I would water.
The tubes will still help if it's reflective and since there is no heat issue I wouldn't worry about getting rid of them.

And this has nothing to do with your post at all but I just dropped a fan on one of my plants. Fuuuuck! :wall:

haha i tend to drop all my lights on my plants...and once i had the top of my grow cab fell and crushed like 8 plants....

and even if you think your plants are stretched, you can always bury part of the stem, and it will grow roots too!

That must've almost brought you to tears man!

My friend had a foot tall plant and it was trying to grow roots near the base even though there was no soil it was kind of freaky. But I have had many stretched plants and fixed it like this too.

It's good too know the stretching can be sorted out, I can see another set of leaves comming through!
I named her Michelle after my girlfriend too, Keep things simple lol.
How long is it roughly before i can take cutting from her and how many is usual?
Just got a few bagseeds so going to germinate 1 and see how i goes.

You are going to want to wait until there are 6 or 7 nodes before cutting!
And no point in doing it unless it is a female.

when taking the cutting, make sure that the cutting you take has a couple of nodes on it too....i had a weird plant that grew around 2 feet, with nodes only spaced an inch or less apart, and i couldnt take any cuttings. for some reason the internodal branches only grew about 2 sets of leaves and an inch in length...even in flowering, but i guess it doesnt matter since it ended up being male...

and yes. i may havve shed a tear or two, and i can say that with pride cuz those were my daughters!!!!!

I'm not 100% what the discoloration means but I had the same problem and it spiraled out of control and my plants have almost no pigment now.
The way that the plants is growing up like that means is show be closer to the light and have some side lighting. It could also mean you are watering to often.
Have you transplanted yet? Do you plan on transplanting soon?
Hope I could help! :)
