First Grow, thoughts?

Here are some pics of my first grow in a roughly 8'x5'x7' potting shed in my backyard, currently in Week 3 of flowering. Pics are of Girl Scout Cookies and Mega Jackpot, both from a reputable dutch breeder.Thinking there are some keepers here worthy of cuts, thoughts? Grew these babies from fem seeds, mainlined each to 8 mains for a total of 32 mains under 600 watt hps. Grown with FF Happy Frog soil and Floranova nutes. The canopy is looking super healthy, no scrog was needed due to mainlining. Expecting roughly 3/4 of a lb total harvest, is that a realistic expectation here? I did a lot of pre-research before growing but since this is my first time I am not sure what is a keeper for cuttings and what to expect yield wise.

looks good. Too many fan leaves in your canopy. Cut some of those back and you might hit your target weight. looks like you could have that light 6 inches or so closer. But nice first time setup. gunna watch this.

Thanks, I will shoot for closer to half a pound for this round. The light is currently 20" from the canopy (picture may look farther), should it be closer? I read about 20" is right to prevent light burn, would hate to run into that now. I will post updated pics as the grow goes along, I am finding it is kind of fun to document your grow.

If the advice is to get a larger light to increase the yield to a pound, not this grow. No matter what size light you use, it is all about power cost to yield ratio and as you increase from 600 to 1000 watt that ratio stays the same. It would actually probably increase the ratio right now, as I would have to run my A/C unit, which is a power hog (all A/C units are) and trips my fuse. Right now temps stay at a perfect 75-80 when the lights are on and being air cooled through the A/C fan unit (intakes outside air), which takes little power to run. My next grow this may be a possibility though as I plan on investing in an exhaust fixture to run through my second vent that the A/C unit doesn't occupy when running only the fan. Not until next fall though as I am moving outside to grow 20 plants this summer.

That 600 is perfect for what you got there. Dont really need more. as i mentioned before it can be moved closer to increase light concentration to the cannopy. Any new pics?
I will post some updated pics tonight, the girls are sleeping right now. I'll get some good side shots and under canopy. Thanks for the follow-up!

No, fan leafs are solar panels they consume the par(photosynthetical active radiation) only take Leafd off if it's dead

Watts have little to do with yield my 650w cob out does a 1000w hps u want high par, ppfd and so on watts are like lumans u can have a 1000w set up but. It doesn't mean it gonna no star crop

Of course, that will always be the case if you have a crappy 1000w setup, but you will get a larger yield with a 1000w over a 600w unless you don't know what you are doing.... Watts have everything to do with yield.

Here are some updated pics now at week 5-6. I have also included some better pics of my setup. I am going to start flushing on the back left cookies, she has matured a bit faster than the others. I will start flushing the other 3 in about a week. Also going to drop the humidity to 0 now with the de-humidifier. Both cookies are covered in trichs, the edges of the leaves are stacked. The Mega Jackpots (Jack Herer x White Widow) are looking mighty tasty as well. Sorry about using the flash but I wasn't able to get clear pictures under just the HPS lighting, it flushes out the color and the details aren't as clear.

If anyone is interested these are seeds from AMS (Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds). I have had three successful shipments from them so far, took 2 weeks to arrive. I have had a 100% success germ rate (10 seeds now) and all fem seeds have flowered fem. I was unsuccessful my first attempt when switching to flower, I let my temps get too high (I guess technically this is my second grow, first into flower). I know many are skeptical of International sites, especially fake Dutch sites but this one is legit. They are their own in-house seed bank and specifically name their breeders. The consistency of all 4 of these plants speaks to the quality of their seeds and a 100% fem germ rate isn't bad at all (I have read many stories of even legit breeders sending seeds that either don't germ or fem seeds turn out male).

Damn man, they're lookin hella frostyyyy ❄ keep it up, good job
Thanks man, appreciate the support from the more seasoned growers. I still have a lot to learn and will be turning to you guys a lot, but damn I was surprised how these came out lol. Never expected anything like this, even the bigger fan leaves on the cookies have edges covered in trichs, gonna have some great trim material for edibles (you can see some of them in the canopy picture). Have to credit this one to beginners luck.
