First Grow - Tangerine Dream

I threw out the 2 weakest clones today. It has been quite a few days and their roots didn't take. Oh well...

I took 4 new clone cuttings today from the stronger mother, and took of another branch-set off of the mother so that it just has the 4 main branches.

Not much to report really.

The flowering box is doing fine, lots of pistils are starting to shoot up and you can tell its getting ready to swell into some fat colas.



As for the mothers:
The stronger mother is doing great and I topped the 2 taller branches yesterday (after the pictures were taken)


Since the second mother has produced a weak set of clones and doesn't show as many positive characteristics I expect from your mothers so I have decided to flower it in the next harvest. Even thought I wanted to play it safe with 2 I think I will be fine with one well cared for mother, for the size of my op. It will also fill the void in time between the current harvest and the clones I took. It is also giving me a chance to LST it properly to maximize yield


In terms of the clones, 3 started to show roots over the weekend so I threw them in the soil. 2 old clones and 4 new ones are still waiting on roots.

Yeah, I've been growing TD for about a year indoors. They always start great but really are difficult in late veg and early flower. Very temperature sensetive. I did get a mite infestation is one of my rooms a few months back, there were about 25 Vanilla Kush, 25 Blue Widow and 10 Tangerine Dreams, I was out on a trip for a week and when i came back, the infestation was at about 10~15%, mostly on the Vanilla, a few on the Blue Widow but NONE on the TD. I took care of this with Dr Doom foggers every 4 days x 4. Anyways when the TD gets to about Wk 10 in flower, it finally starts to blow up. The smell is incredible, super citrusy tangerine for sure. I hear a lot of bad shit about Barneys, but I believe its all about the love you put into your grows. But will say again, TD is not "easy" to grow, everything has to be monitored closer then usual, and the yield isn't awesome, but worth it for sure! Good Luck Dr. Hope you get a killer harvest.

Everything is looking pretty good. I LST'd some of the plants some more to get them away from the light. A lot more pistils are showing up and some crystals are starting to show.



The potted clones dont look to good so I might give them some nutes soon. Still waiting on the new clones to root, probably going to toss the ones that havent shown root yet from the first set of cuttings. The mother is doing great and the veg'ing plant is doing alright.

So I tried to figure out when, it was exactly, that I started flowering and I believe it was Tues. Oct 4th, making this day 25 of flowering.

Other than that there is not much to say so heres some pictures.

Flowering Box:
I'm not going to bore you with to many details but I started giving the flowering plants them straight water as of day 50 to start flushing for harvest. I'm really going to try to stick to the 70 day suggested flower period (plants permitting) to get that early harvest head high.

In here I transplanted the veg'ing plant into its 3gal home to prep it for flowering. I also trimmed and root pruned the mother and re-potted her. Going to wait for the clones to get a bit bigger before re-potting those.

I think I'm going to see a decent harvest this time around (lower estimate is 5oz) but I'm hoping what I've learned since then really helps yield next time around.

I have repotted the clones and put the mother in a smaller pot and one of the plants waiting for harvest has been veg'ing since day one so it probably cant wait to bloom.

hey whats up man, i just found your thread looking up info on my buddies tangerine dream. Your plants look great and look like they want to be smoked in a couple weeks... Anyway my buddy is somewhat concerned about there being no crystals on the leaves yet, and hes about two weeks into having hairs shown.. and i noticed yours doesnt have much towards the end here. How is the smell?

Hey Anotherdaymusic,

Tell your buddy not to worry, I didn't have crystals show till about the 3rd week and even then it was scarce. Once your are about 40 days into it the colas start to put on their weight and once the buds swell they get coated in nice glistening crystals. I know it may not look that way from the pics but I wish my cell phone could capture what I see.



As for the smell, it is very pleasant. It is a very light "tangerine" smell that just fills the grow room, and when you get nice and close for a whiff you catch that subtle musky undertone that reminds you that its DANK. I like it a lot because the smell that doesn't get cut by the carbon filter, doesn't stink up the rest of the room but instead leaves you with a feeling that an air freshener is running.

Just found this thread at a late stage. Have subbed in. I'm also growing TD. In my first week. It is my first grow. I just re potted out of the party cup as I found out my soil was no good. Take a look and see what you think. The plant is 5-6days old. My first thought is it's not growing very fast. Possibly due to heat issues. Have not been able to keep temps in grow room much below 30 degrees Celsius and have it outside during the day in similar temps but with better ventilation!


Could you have a look and tell me what you think?
