Have you put them into flower yet and if so how long and how much stretch has occurred?

:leaf:Not yet they're in veg now, they were cut on March 2nd, transplanted 11 on the 19th, the last 4on the 27th. How long should I wait to put them into flowering? Some things I've read say 3 weeks in veg, some say 1 week, some say a foot tall?! Idk what one to believe.

You can flower whenever you want as long as they have rooted. You need to consider that they will stretch 2 to 3 times the size they are when you put into flower. More veg equals bigger flowered plants and generally more yield but there are ways to maximise yield without having to grow big plants but that's another story.

How tall are they now?

Okay personally I would flip the switch, the bigger they get in veg the less penetration you will have down below when they stretch and they will get much bigger than the bad boy can handle even with the 180 LED. In my experience clones lend well to the single cola and generally stretch consistently, if you could keep it down to 2 foot after 2 weeks you have done well, I only fear that they get to 3 foot with the lack of light ensuring popcorn and a few top nuggies!

How do you want them to finish?

:leaf:Gotcha, I definitely want more cola than popcorn. You think I need more lights then? I have to make due with what I'm going to have until these girls are harvested, sadly. I was contemplating going with a screen of green type thing, looks pretty easy and effective. Either that or just let em grow lol. I'm not too sure yet man, it's my first grow and I'm open to suggestions. bongsmilie

Bit late to scrog or LST now, you wanted to do that in the veg stage. I would just flower them out straight up and deal with what comes. At the end of the day the lighting question is thus....what do you want your grow to be, how much do you want to harvest and then apply your grow and equipment to that.

Get this your first grow under the belt then ask those questions.

:leaf:Ok, once I get my leds on Friday I'll switch em over to flower. I'll keep researching and put a plan together on what to improve/add to the room. I just need my handy-dandy notebook! hah! Ahh sorry kids watchin it on tv, and I'm baked on some blue cheese.:leaf:

Then consider leaving the lights off till you get the LED, a dark period can only do you good in getting the plants to kick start flowering, also what are your day time temps vs. night time temps in the tent? I have found that a smaller variance in the temp drop at night time helps to keep nodes tighter and that means budding from each node...I run 78-80 during the day and 69-72 at night. I'll take some pics of some examples for you.

:leaf:With where I have the lights and everything else now, it's been 80-86*F in the day and 67-70*F at night. Is that too hot during the day? From what I've read 75-80*F in the day and 65-70* at night. Humidity's been 35-40%, seems low too, I know they are hearty plants, but I don't want to be too close to the limit.:leaf:

86 is a bit too high, try to get it down, how much fresh air is coming in, you may just be circulating more of the warm air around the room. Your humidity is fine, you want it lower in flower anyway, mine are the same.

here is that node pic.....

:leaf:Nice plant. :weed: I've got the air being sucked out the filter->fan->outside, and an oscillating fan in there, maybe add another fan to help keep it cooler? I'd like to try to avoid putting an a/c unit in if at all possible. It's all from the t5s, the temps stay in the 70s if I only have half the lights on, but then it's too little light. I turned the lights off this morning, in anticipation of the leds coming tomorrow, and starting flowering!:p

What size is the fan and more specifically what is the CFM? You tent was 4'9" sq but what was the height again plz? We can establish if the outgoing air is enough. Sounds unlikely though. Do you have an intake of fresh air and if so how much? I think an a/c would be way OTT!

:leaf:My out going fan is the CK 6 C model from.... http://www.comfortagencies.com/Content/ostberg_inline_fans.asp 280-605 CFM. The height is 6'7", I thought it was 6'5" but I was off a couple inches. The intake is pretty much from the room the tent is in, there is a vent from the central air into there, I have the house set so the fan is always on blowing fresh air into the room. I can open up a window thats way up high in the room for fresh air, just a pain getting up there. I have all the air vent flaps open on 3 sides of the tent, for air from the bottom. But no direct fresh air line in at all. Bought a couple of small fans today, a 4inch and a 6 inch clip on one. I'll try adding those when I turn the lights back on.

The passive vents should be fine, as for the extraction fan..I'm assuming the setting you choose is dictated by how it is wired so is it wired for 280 or 605? 605 is a bit more than you require but that's always good in a tent. 280 is at the minimum really, which is it?

Oh and air from the tent..where is that going, into the room or out..that will also have an effect..

:leaf:I have it hooked into a speed controller, so it varies, if it's hot I'll turn it all the way up, down at night. Air is being sucked out through charcoal filter through the inline fan, out the window.:leaf:

Clean job...+rep for that! Okay well then I am stumped as to why it should be so hot in there, maybe try upping the idle speed but again if the plants seem fine then it's cool, make the call yourself.

Keep an eye on them and watch the moisture levels in your medium.

:leaf:Thanks, I've got a soil moisture meter, been checking them twice a day or so, watering as needed. They seem to be doing fine, no signs of any problems.:leaf:
