Wow that will be 750w in a 22" x 46" cabinet
lol, well you are the one who said you wanted to add a 150MH =) . I didnt' realize what you already had when i posted my comment. 600watts gives you like... 85 watts per square foot.... sounds perfect to me. Maybe spend the money on a little humidifier or some more ventilation? I personally dont think you need to do anything other than what you're already doing, your plants look awesome!.

Mine went through a little leaf curling, i suspected heat/humidity but it turned out to be the pH of my tap water when no nutes are added (way too high). Had to switch to distilled water for water only feedings. (I'm in soil)

I have also returned to growing after years of playing it safe. Our plants are at the same stage of flowering, will be interesting to see how us 'old timers returned' do our first time. Cheers!

Here's mine, if you dont mind me posting .... 3 week bud.jpg 20 days flower.jpg bud day 20.jpg

Please!! Post away!! Nice looking girls!!

I did notice the ph a little high (6.8 - 7.0) last water with the molasses, but being in soil I don't adjust. Other than the when the lake thawed and the water company over/under estimated the impact of the 5000 geese that wintered there......... Our tap water after filtering and dechlorinating is usually just under 6.5 - 7.0.

Rain water is tinged a little brown. Guess I need to clean the gutters and drain the barrel. haha!

Unfortunately, my city uses a few different sources for our water. so it randomly changed on me, It was coming out the tap at around 8. That sounds unhealthy for ME, let alone my plants. My issue was, besides the ridiculously high pH of my tap water, I forgot that adding nutes changes the pH.... (i just forgot). My girls were mad for a little bit but they've forgiven me. i shoot for 6.5 but anything under 7 and above 6 works in soil for me.

How long did you veg for? I went from seed and flipped em 4 weeks later.... I should have gone longer but... i wanted to find my females and get clones and be done asap. They didn't stretch as much as I expected but i imagine they still have some way to go.

We dropped the seeds in soil Feb 27th. Went in cabinet and 12/12 on April 8th. ........ old guy math says 38 days or just under 6 weeks. Out of the 15 seeds dropped I got 16 plants. (yes I am letting the twin live) I flipped the lights back to 18/6 on the rest after they showed sex. only 4 males :bigjoint:. They have been moved to another site for pollen collection before death.

I got busy outside today and didn't get to play with my setup. When I came in about 5:00 it was 80 deg with 30% rh. My small fan and open water container was a complete bust (Prior testing for temp control told me it wouldn't but ... hey I was busy....Readying outside holes)...................lol My apprentice (daughter/grow mate) was ready to freak out because I told her 45 was my target during veg...... "chill girl... its a weed.....wait till mid summer and im water outside twice a day...lol...... road trip.....

I'm not sold on humidity as a detriment to weed. That being said... i did put a bowl of water with a rag hanging above/in it in front of the fan.... the rag wicks the water up the rag, keeping it wet, and the fan evaporates the water more quickly. I think its raised my humidity maybe 5%. It lowered the temps by a few degrees as well.

LOL... my grow mate is my son. We'll have to have a Mother/Son - Father/daughter grow off! He keeps repeating "don't harvest too early... make sure you do the whole cure correctly" " you're not going to harvest too early are you?"
My last grow was sativa dom bag seeds.... of course it took 13+ weeks to flower. I'm hoping with better indoor genetics that they wont take me past my point of patience =)

Lookin Good G-Pops, Looks Like a very Healthy Seedling. About The Right Size For 2 weeks. can you not downgrade to maybe a couple 100w CFL's for a couple weeks till you can upsize your grow space to accommodate either the 300w or 600w.

Can you afford aircon?

If not place a bucket of cold water into your grow room daily (you can add ice too), the water needs to be about 1-2inchs from the rims, then place your oscillating fan and/or/etc so that it blows over the surface of the water gently rippling it. = Wind Chill Factor :)

Shouldnt the fan always be above the light and plant? Im new to cultivation, but read this somewhere.
You need a fan blowing across the tops of your plants to reduce temps and strengthen stems. if heat is an issue, you would also want an exhaust fan above the light where all of the heat collects and possibly a passive intake(hole w no fan) near the bottom

Ok, cool. I have a closet, grow with a ventalation hole that exits into the bathroom, where the windows open. There at week 4 of flowering, doing ok, will upload a pic, when there awake in a few hours. Cheers

Well I instaled a small humidifier this morning in place of the container and fan. Wow.... should of done it a month ago. RH stayed equal to or 1% higher than the ambient room. So 40% rh @ 77.1 degrees with exhaust fan lowered to about a 3 on a scale of 1 - 10. Although I watered this morning the plants seem to have embraced the humidity with open ....stomata...:bigjoint:.. The leaves of the AK are not so crispy feeling and some of the tip curl is subsiding except where there was actual brown edges.
I think the two strains are a little too far apart to be growing side by side in such a small space and trying to keep them both as completely happy. I chose the PK (#2) because we seemed to start a mutual affection thing the day the spout popped ( 12 hours after dropping its dry self in a wet hole.) Lets say it was love at first sight. The AK47 feminized was not my true second choice but since I was potting up to 7 gallon and sticking them in the cabinet not knowing the sex that my chances were pretty good for having one to bring to maturity during cabinet trials and getting to know the strains.

My protégé is also full of questions because I think I overload her with theory and past experience comparisons. (and the line "fuck I don't know, lets try it") I have gotten a little overzealous a couple times with lst and have cracked/broken a stem or two. She always gives me the eye, but already has the foresight to look at the damage .... and say.... "she will be fine.. quit worrying so much. your aura is blowing my buzz and the plants don't like it either" She printed this out and hung it by my feed schedule. Hippy Lettus.jpg

Bring on the pics. I will be up.
I agree with the fan across the tops of the plants for both temp control and stem vigor. Not too much and it should oscillate. I am having a hard time locally sourcing an adequate small oscillating clip on. So I have a 16 inch tied just below the light blowing slightly up at the light which ruffles the leaves pretty good with the doors closed. The new humidifier is mid cabinet at the bottom and blows straight up . Static wind will cause wind burn so I will have to watch closely.
I have wanted to photoshop a picture to show my setup and ask for opinions. Not that I listen.... hahahaha
Maybe after this bowl of this Sour Diesel

I have like a 12" box fan i hung from a piece paracord and then tethered one corner to the wall it moves ever so slightly but just enough to get all the plants moving ...... ive had good luck with the upright tower fans too and they take up little floor space .... they are a pain in the butt to clean though

How's it growing Pops? Mine are exactly 4 weeks since the flip and I can't believe how frosty one of them is getting.
Nice. I am noticing some frostiness also. even on the ones I reveged after sexing.
My cabinet is like night and day. Really like one plant thriving and the other acts as if it wants to die. what I thought was heat stress wasn't the case. I have raised the light, and upped the exhaust cfm. (made dang sure I didn't get above 79 deg and thought it helped for a day or two. Purchased and added a humidifier, and climate controlled (AC) the base room. Running rock steady at 78.3 and 42% with lights on, and 69.2 and 47% lights out.
The AK47 is still not happy. My gut is telling me its starving but I would be surprised if its lock out. I am not a big fan of fertilizers and have been very light and rarely using. Last watering was three days ago. Full strength FF trio, 1-Tbl molasses, 1 tsp Epsom, 4 drops super thrive. LOL. It didn't kill it. actually has some green coming back at the bud sites. I will kill the HPS and get some pics when a camera shows up.
The weather has been awesome the last few days and I have been working in the yard. Garden is in, trellis for tomato experiment is built and ready for plants, new privacy fence (therefore two new outside plots) and planted my catalpa tree. Removed the giant hedges and reworked the wife's flowerbed in the front.
I potted up a Sour Diesel and an Ak47 into 5 gallon buckets for a friend and will be placing 4 in the ground outside today.

Feed it more!! lol... i tend to underfeed my plants as well because I am so scared of over doing it. Some strains just love nutrients though. I have a few that suck up a lot more than the rest. Don't be afraid of 'full strength' that means its the correct dose for your plant..... we like to go weaker but your AK says I want more! Trust your gut! If one is fine and you are using the same water, you know its not lock out.

I love my sour diesels, might be my new favorite strain to grow. The pheno I have is very piney smelling and grows into very nice medium sized plants with sick bud growth at every node.

Here's one of my sour Ds. It looks odd because I super crop and never cut the main stem (its sacrilege to cut the main stem) so I end up with a plant that looks topped but still gets to keep its main cola. I'm actually doing a side by side clone comparison with two new ones I have in veg. One will be topped, the other super cropped, my theory is that the super cropped plant will yield more.... I'll know in a few months. =)
