First Grow Room Set-up

Hey everyone, this is my very first post and I need a little help getting started growing. I have done a ton of research and have learned a lot of information. The only thing I am not absolutely sure about is how many lights I need for my plants. I bought a 15 pot hydroponic system and was planning on using two 600 watt grow lights. One would be HPS and one would be MH. I have been told by a lot of people that I should just get two 1000 watt lights but I want to try to keep my electricity costs as minimal as possible. If anyone could make a recommendation on what I should use I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey Bdub1286, I would personally go with two Hortilux Eye 1000 hps for your grow.

Are you trying to keep electricity costs down for budget or security reasons? If it's just because of budget, I would return the bucket system and build your own. You'd save at least half on it, which should at least cover the extra electricity cost. Peace

you should be fine buddy. look at it this way if you place them in a square shape, and usa 600 watt hps it will cover a area of 5' by 5' and yess two 1000 watts would be better. but you will get a good yeild with that 600 and keep the electric cost down. buy some fox farm nutes about 10 dollars to really boost those little guys. happy growing. oh ya i am using a 400 watt hps on 18 plants, yes the outside ones are smaller but shit if i dont get a hell of a yeild. and in a 2' by 7' by 5' are. Sweet huh. happy growing

I was gonna build my own bucket system but I got a pretty good deal on this one. Plus it will probably take me forever to get started growing if I have bo build my own system, I keep pretty busy with school starting up pretty soon. I am really considering just getting two 1000 watt lights, it seems like the cost difference between two 600 watt lights is not that significant. Are there any type of grow lights that I should stay away from? Thanks.
