First Grow Questions/ Suggestions!?!

Hi i am new to this site, and this is my first grow. I am building a room right now and its 8.5 by 11.5 and 8ft. tall. Theres a 4.5 by 11.5 room too and thats going to have the electrical panel, ballasts and all the other goodies. I have a 1000w light and i was wondering how big of an area will this light cover if im running it on 120v. I am also wondering how many more lights could i fit in this area and how many plants total i could grow? And if anyone has any suggestions on how i can set the room up please let me know! Thanks cant wait!

sweet thanks, so do you think 3 1000's r too much for the room? should i get 2 1000's and a 600 or 400? or how many lights and what wattage? ill put a layout of my room on here soon then hopefully someone can help me with layin out the vetilation sys. and lay out where the lights should go etc. for the best results thanks
