First Grow plan with stealth hydro bubbleponics... looking for advice

I'm up to page 7 in that thread. :-) I have 2 of your other threads going, too. Just soaking up info as fast as possible.

I think I'm going to step up to a serious CFL...

My question: to light up 8 plants max in two "planters" will this be sufficient lighting?

One CFL overhead unit, with FOUR 105W spiral CFLs in 6500k & 2700k for 420 overhead watts with (hopefully) minimal heat.

Three sets of side lights. Two 55W CFL pairs of 2700k & 6500k for 320 side light watts. One set on the left, one in the middle of the two planters, and one on the right.

Will that be enough to flower nice buddage from two planters with up to 8 plants?

Thanks,
ES

That will be more than ample and will work just fine..

Thanks everyone. I am all set and ready to go, but now my wife is saying she doesn't want me growing at home.

It's funny... she liked the idea in abstract a couple months ago, but now that it could be reality, she is going into fear that it could be discovered, I could go to jail, etc etc...

After 2 days of intermittent, attempted convincing, I am SOL on the wife front...

:wall:

I mean...if "they" wanted to fck with me, it would be so easy with or without a few plants in my closet.

Anyhow, I'm going to keep chiseling away at her and hope she comes around.

Happy smokes and happy grows,
ES

And I thought it was bad that the wife didn't want me to take pictures! Dang! Keep working on her ES! Check the state laws where you will grow. For small amounts it's a misdimeanor at worse for a few plants. Norml or maybe High Times would have that info.

Thanks everyone for the info and links. I won't be able to vent much heat in this small closet, so I am going to stick to CFL. I checked out T-5s, and CFLs seem better from what I have found.

Roseman, thanks for those links -- those are some of the main threads that I mined for info in coming up with my plan. :-)

NOW, here's where I need some help getting this done on the cheap.

I found these 105 watt 2700k bulbs:
http://growwurks.com/105-watt-compact-fluorescent-cfl-vegetative-flower.aspx

Unfortunately, they don't come in 6500k

But I found a 105 watt 6500k here:
http://www.topbulb.com/find/Product_Description.asp_Q_intProductID_E_49655

I would LOVE to put them together into a SINGLE, inexpensive reflector that holds 2 bulbs. Basically a 2 bulb version of this: http://growwurks.com/hydroponic-compact-fluorescent-fixture-ref-006.aspx

Can anybody link me to a reflector like that? Inexpensive is good ($50ish would be nice), as long as it doesn't fall apart.

I'm thinking that IF I can pair up those 105s into a single $50-ish reflector, that's a whole lot of lumens for $100. 2 of those up top should light up my flower area very nicely, and I can side light with 42 watt bulbs as needed.

Thanks,
ES

I liked my stealth hydro bubbleponics alot. watch your 1/4" hoses that pour the aerated solution onto the roots. they get clogged. a pump bag sold at most hydro stores will cure this, or as I said you can visually inspect them once in a while and clean them out yerself. happy growing!

how is the grow doing?
Hi Roseman,

I *wish* the grow was going... Check my older posts in this thread. Boss Lady got cold feet and put the kaibash on my growing plans. She's worried about legal problems should my "magical closet" be discovered.

I have been trying to convince her that it can be kept secret, safe and secure, but so far no luck...

So for now this little dream is on hold.

I appreciate your helpful advice and hopefully I will be able to wear down her resistance eventually.

Thanks,
ES

No offence but it might be time to put those 'relationship pants' back on. it astounds me that these days men are submissive to their wives. yes a relationship is a two way street but i can never understand men always having to ask their wives for permission all the time. You should get a micro PC grow happening in secret (from her), then when you pull your first harvest tell her you were growing the whole time and that this is proof it can be done stealthily....just be prepared not to get any 'special cuddles' for a while after that.

An interesting, if ill conceived plan...

Figure a cost of $600 for one of those PC planters (I can't make one 'cause the wife would PROBABLY notice)

That's half of the budget I had in mind for the closet grow, blown on a tiny enclosure for 2 plants.

Anyhow, let's say it's harvest time and I show her my stealth set up. Yes, I succeeded in keeping it stealth, and who knows...

Maybe there is a REMOTE chance that she goes "yea man, that's cool you flat out lied and got your shit handled in a stealthy way...I won't try to stop you if you do a closet grow."

But come on...you really think it's gonna play out like that? Seriously? Maybe if I get her really really really really high first... LoL...

Got is backwards. If she is a smoker get her high on some "real good" weed you just picked up a sample of and want her to try and give her opinion on and then do the ta da! LOL!
