First Grow...Nothing Too Serious

Starting my very first grow. Nothing too big just germinated roughly 10 seeds (which only took 2 days btw I was amazed at how fast that happened considering most of my seeds are years old lol!). Once I put them in soil, 9 out of 10 popped through in roughly 3 days. Only problem so far is the light was too far away from them so they stretched out really fast and are about 2 inches tall lol. I moved the light closer which helped tremendously.
I don't plan on really putting a lot of money into this because it's mostly just an experiment. I want to have minimal involvement with the growth of the plants the first time around, I'm just fascinated with nature and would like to see how much they can do ON THEIR OWN.
Then, I can take that knowledge and put it to good use for the 2nd grow and actually buy some lights and such.
WILL post some pics along the way and give you some updates.

I do have one question starting off. I plan on "training" the plants once they get a little bigger, but how long should I wait before I begin tying them down?

Peace and happy toking :leaf: =]

I hope you dont let them die off & kill them just cause.. better off planting them outside in the nature if your not giving a shit. And come by and check on them once in awhile if you just want to see nature. Just my 2 cents. If you cant put em outside then do em inside. Either way, just saying outside they will likely be more sucessfull and you dont have to do anything. Just pic a good spot, dont tell no one. and thats all you need. Let nature do its thing!

I've actually already looked over your SCROG tutorial! =] I won't let them die. I like plants too much for that!
I just don't have the funds right now to spend on fertilizers and special soils and shit and my electrical system isn't going to support a fancy light setup lol.
AAAAaaand since it's winter right now, I can't put them outside or I would've just done that. I figured doing it this way I'll have a better idea since when I do my real grow next time around I plan on growing INDOORS anyways. Too many people stealing other people's grows around here.

Glad To Have A Viewer! Thanks!

And now I fully understand your idea. Completely acceptable!
Sorry, I seem to forgot that everyone from RIU doesn't have an oppurtunity like me with outdoors.
I live in a tropical area so the weather is amazing for outdoor! Even in winter.

Practice makes perfect mate!
+Rep for giving growing a try!
Any questions you let me know, I have recent expierence with indoors.

As stretched out as they are now and damaged from my cats chewing on them I may have to just start over. =[
Gonna germinate some more seeds and keep an eye on the few plants I have left and see if they'll snap out of it.

My three plants that got attacked by cats are actually bouncing back from all the damage believe it or not lol!
Started tying them down... doing a crop circle grow kinda deal. My new seeds have all germinated and are ready to be planted anytime. Hopefully can get that done when I get home from work tonight. Gotta make sure to put these babies really close to the light so they don't get stretched so bad like the first ones did =\

Ok the first set of plants is roughly 3 and a half weeks old now. There's 2 of them and a tiny lil one that I don't think is gonna much. Appears to be stunted. Corrected some of the stretching problems with those first 2 plants and they seem to be doing better now. However my light schedule is all messed up and they are starting to show sex already I think. Too early to tell what they are but I think they're definitely gonna be very miniature and I highly doubt I'll end up with any more than a bowl pack outta the deal lol.
Started a second batch which are a lil over a week old now they look much healthier than my first two plants.
Gonna get a couple more lamps and see if I can get these ones a little bit bigger. Not tryin to grow any trees here just a bunch of little plants. Think of it as a party cup/sog/crop circle kinda grow. =]

I'm almost ashamed of these mini-grows I got going on right now but other than being very tiny the plants look fairly healthy. No strange discolorations and still new growth happening. They just need waaaaay more light is all. Gonna try feeding them a bit of molasses and see if that helps em out at all.

For seedlings these lil buggers are gettin pretty hairy lol. Another week or two and I should be able to sex my first 2 plants. The second set of plants are coming along nicely. Not nearly as much stretching with these ones and I think there's 4 really healthy ones outta that batch.

Also started the molasses feeding last night. Mixed up maybe a teaspoon in a bottle of water. I just give em enough water to saturate the top few inches of soil. Usually lasts em 2 or 3 days. Dunno if I put in enough molasses to see any real difference in growth though. =\

Well I had one girl outta the first set of plants. Had being the keyword.
My cat thought it'd be cute to eat all of my plants this morning. =[
