First Grow = Male, 2nd time around I want NO mistakes

After almost 7 weeks of growing, my baby turned out to be a boy. :wall:

I have decided to try all over again, but this time I am going to try and make sure I have learned from all my mistakes. I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give!!!

Initially I used 2 4' Cool white Flouros for the seedling phase & most of the vegetative stage, but quickly came to my senses and purchased a 250w electronic ballast HPS light. That definitely helped the growing improve, but I was not using the best nutes and also used cheap potting soil. Now that I am starting over again, I recently purchased Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil, the 3 fertilizers that they make (through recommendations) & a MH conversion bulb for the vegetative stage. The closet grow room is approx 12' height, 4' width, 5' length with all the walls painted white (except there is brown cardboard on the floor to support the plant). Is there anything else that I should do to improve the room?

I had once read on a post, which I cannot seem to find again, that there is a recommended substance I should mix in with the soil to prevent any change (or very little) in PH level throughout the growth, does anyone have any recommendations or is the Ocean Forest good enough? Also, would it be recommended to mix in something like sphagnum moss to the potting soil?

How am I able to exactly tell the difference between the seedling & vegetative phase? I just want to know when I should switch from my flouros to the MH lamp.

Lastly, when is the best point to begin fertilizing and how often is it recommended I do this for both the vegetative & flowering phase?

I apologize in advance for all the questions, but I have spent hours sorting through various postings but have yet to come up with an exact answer to these questions. Thank You!!! :weed:

They say mistakes happen. I hears seeds are 50/50 male female, so you just got unluck. You need to grow more seeds... or buy feminized seeds. That is what I would do if you are not planning on killing any.

Grow them 24 hours under light, then after they're semi big switch to 12/12 for a week or so and you should be able to see the sex organs
