First Grow Leaf Tears/Rips - Bugs, Mites, or Watering?

Hey guys, I’m a medical patient about a month into my first grow and these guys are reaching 9-10 nodes. They’re off to a slow start because we were still figuring out how to water them properly the first couple of weeks. Used fox farm soil and they’re in 8 gallon buckets right now under 400W lights in a 4x4 space. We have a carbon filter, light, and fan to pump all the air out. Humidity is at a consistant 60% and temps 75 degrees. Using general hydroponics go box for nutes, which I apply every other watering and once a week I flush the soil completely with only water until there’s 20%-30% runoff.

Keep in mind these plants have been indoors their whole lives, not exposed to any outside contaminants or bugs. So I’d really like to believe they’re not bugs.

So, ever since we started using empty milk-gallons to water them about a week ago, we’ve had a hard time NOT hitting the leaves since there’s no long neck to dispense the water under the plant only. This has resulted in the water hitting the plants right on top. Ever since then we’ve been seeing these little tears and rips. There hasn’t been any new tears on any new growth as of yet, only the old growth where we watered them harshly with the gallon water, so my husband doesn’t think it’s bugs. Also, we do low stress training so as they grow bigger sometimes the leafs Chafe with eachother or the edges of the grow bag and that could also be the reason. Or the ends of the pipecleaners could be poking the leaves as we adjust them when needed, could also be human error there. They’re isolated from the outside world aside from the fox farms soil we’ve brought in.

I’ve looked with a magnifying glass time and time again and haven’t seen a hint of any pests.

However, I’ve read the only pests that come out at night are snails, could this be the case?

What are your thoughts? Thank you!
