First Grow Just Want Some Tips

Just Curious if I('m doing everything right it's my first grow and I went straight to hydro after 48 hours of Youtube LOL.

My Setup

50 Gallon DIY DWC Tub with 2-9" air stones filled with ph balanced water straight from my aquarium.

8 - 3 3/4" net cups

600 watt ipower MH/HPS HID with reflector(temp sits between 82F and 86F with a daily high of 88F for like an hour or so...Is that really bad pls let me know)

Room fan blowing air inside(all I can do at the moment)

General Hydroponics micro and grow (I know I need bloom too)

My biggest plant is 2 and a half weeks old the rest are about a week or so.

ANYTHING I CAN DO BETTER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

do u have a parts list for that unit lol,id like to build one myself

aerator with air stones-$25

No odor control? Adding a carbon filter with exhaust fan will help pull some of that heat out if your tent as well as kill the smell.

Not worried about the odor its welcome but yeah the heat its not a tent its a closet im trying not to destroy it is their any other way to battle the heat for not a whole lot of money or cutting holes?

Ok just add exhaust fan with out a filter... I think when you have 8 18" plants & your closet gets full you are gonna have some heat issues & the smell will force you to reconsider....even vegging plants will stink up your house but not in a good way. But that's cool maybe you don't care if your neighbor knows you grow; it's all good. Other than that your setup is great- wish you all the best in your grow subbed to see how ya do

if you have neighbors you're gonna need to worry about odor.

What type of fan would you recommend closet is 7'x3'x7' running a 600 watt?

Hi and welcome...

Im sorry to say but you are on the road straight to a dissaster.. Those temp are way too high with the rez being in the room.. The water temp in Hydro are important to keep in check or you quite possible run into trouble..

A solution that might help you is having a rez outside and make a small 2 part RDWC.. It will definitely get your temps down a bit.. Also use as cold air as you can to feed the air pump.. That also cooles the water..

Also cover your hydroton so only the plant gets light.. You dont want any light leaks into your rez. Also use black air lines not transparent..

I have picked up a portable AC for $80 it took the fans place and room stays at 75 now.....Would this cause any issues?

75 should do the job just fine

Big plant is just shy of 3 weeks other three center ones about 2 weeks........started the rest to late just gonna focus on the 4 for now

A/C will help but I recommend a 240 cfm inline fan attached to your light hood & a carbon filter to kill the smell...not sure but I think I paid about $30 for a fan & $60 for the filter on Amazon... Ducting was like another $20 plus 2 $6 hose clamps... My tent running 2 400w lights stays at 67 deg even in the dead of summer... No heat stress & absolutely no aroma. Totally worth the investment & have gotten 3 harvests out this setup so far.... Oh and I forgot you are doing a closet grow- you will need to get a piece of plywood or something to make a door/cover for your closet unless you can cut holes for the duct somehow- just a thought

its ok to stagger your seedlings...well within reason: I once started a seed 4 weeks after the rest of the girls... Yes it was stunted but after the first harvest & reveg it caught up to the rest & is now one my most vibrant plants. Those are small enough to go ahead & germinate another seed if you want to fill all 6 spots- keep in mind those 6 are gonna become a jungle in there unless you SCROG or at least LST/tie em down.

working on the inline fan theirs a light in the closet im going to push out and vent out of but probably not till next grow this is my learning one and believe me im taking notes lol thanks

Hmmm black airlines? They have those? And I thought I was stuck dealing with these clear ones I gotta disinfect every couple weeks. I don't cover my hydro ton either but that is something I should do as well... Always figured the roots get more oxygen that way

Every one is a learning one... U get better every time- you'll be fine all in due time. Its a constantly improving process... The wife keeps saying "ok that's all you are gonna buy for this shit right?" And I nod yes and then the doorbell rings with another pkg from ups & she's all like wtf... Good ventilation actually can improve yield due to increased co2 exchange rate- they love fresh air
