I don't know about that elusive "subscribe" button either.

The Romulan is doing better actually. It really had a tomato plant look about it, but not anymore. The new leaves on top are looking really healthy and sharp with a similar appearance as the AK and the Scarlet Fire.

Yo bro random ? but where did u tap ur power sorce from for all those side lighting??
I used a #14 guage extension cord and cut off the female end, and ran that end of the cord into a plastic electrical box to feed the switches. then ran the romex from the switches out to the light bases.

#14guage wire is rated for maximum of 15a (12a continuous load), this gives the box a max of 1440watts (12a X 120v = 1440w)

Long Over Due Update!

The girls are in their first week of flowering. Half of the room is already 2 ft tall and the other is only 1 ft. I chose to wait until the smaller ones were bigger to induce flowering but now i think i should have done it when the tall ones were tall enough. The taller ones (White Widow, Romulan and AK-47) only have about 6 inches till they burn to death or grow into a dark ceiling :( It is a freaking jungle in there! Tonight when the lights come on I am going to trim some of the lower branches off, to open it up a bit. I am going to try to make clones out of what I cut. I am going to plant them straight into soil after dipping them in a honey and water do it yourself rooting hormone mixture I read about.

I think they are doing well, nice thick trunks, lots of healthy leaves and growth. However, they all have a common problem. I think it is powdery mold. One day a few weeks ago i noticed a white circle spot on a leaf. Upon closer inspection, it appears fuzzy, like mold. it started with the AK-47 and I have since found at least one leaf on every plant that has a spot or two on it. I showed a grower friend of mine and he and his friend thought they were spider mite nests. Opinions? Thanks!

With just a few inches o go before the ceiling, I had to do something. The two options I came up with were;
1. chop the tops off and hope for the best :(
2. Take the 3 tallest and tie them together, lowering the canopy. Take the 2 tallest and tie them to each other, lowering them to the height of the 3rd tallest. This is what I chose to do and it only bought me a few inches.

What should I do? Continue to gradually tighten the ties or just chop em?

AHHH! Like someone told me in the beginning "you'll definitely learn a lot this grow"

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

What Iv'e learned so far:

1. Pot costs so much because its a lot of f-ing work!
2. Would have been much easier with all the same strain or at least the same type, (sativa/indica)
(I have from tallest to shortest, Romulan, AK-47, White Widow (3ft tall), Scarlet Fire, Purple Kush, Af-Goo (almost 2ft), and Purple Punch at a measly 18 inches.
3. With a one room set up, its hard.
4. Should have induced flowering a long frigging time ago! When the tallest ones were tall enough, don't wait for the short ones to catch up or you induce flowering at 2.5ft in a 4ft box, don't forget to add the height of the pot, OMG! They were just doing so great I didn't want to change anything, lol.
5. Powdery Mildew, Go to Hell!
6. CFL's Kicked ass so far! Only 1.5 weeks into flowering, so we will see.

Iv'e been battling Powdery Mildew for some time now and i have been forced to cut many leaves and harvest some buds early. The Tall tops are free of mildew, thankfully.

Pic 1. White Widow, mostly. Yes I am still ONLY using CFL'S!
Pic 2. The 3 tallest plants. On the left is White Widow, Middle is AK-47 and on the right, kinda behind the AK, is Romulan.
Pic 3. All of them except for the Af-Goo that I kicked out due too too much mildew.
Pic 4. Two Ak buds. You can see Powdery Mildew on the dark green leaf that belongs to the Purple Punch.
Pic 5. Scarlet Fire, I see a little bit of mildew in this pic.
Pic 6. An Ak Bud, How much longer do you think?
Pic 7. Purple Kush Powdery Mildew :(
Pic 8. Almost touching the ceiling :)
Pic 9. Mmm

Comments Appreciated!

Damn man, running outta room quick. I Have a similar setup, less herb though. They look great. Keep it up. What you feeding them, Have you started flushing yet?

well a good rule of thumb is to wait until atleast half the trichomes have turned milky. You want half the hairs to turn red. Do you have a scope or camera that was a macro zoom, its a good way to look at them, but looking at the pics, your bound to be real close, and remember some of them will be ready sooner than others. i.e different strains Very good for a first grow
