First grow in closet

hello everyone,
i started my first grow yesterday in my closet under a 100 watt light.
i only have one plant under it and i did germinate the seed.
i have a few questions.

-what should my light schedule be on? right now i have it on 24 hours.
-when should i change it to 12/12
-will the plant bud if it is only under a 100 watt or do i have to move it outside?

Yea you should get some better light soon. I would keep it under 20/4 lighting for at least 4 weeks if you have the room since you don't have much light. Look for a 250 watt light as they are very cheap and you can grow 2 to 4 little plants under it and do well.
you cant do shit with that light.

i agree with joliet jake,, you should ditch that 100w you have.. Youd be better off with a few cfls.. Or as stated above,, look for a small metal halide or hps. As for your light schedual you can do whatever you like,, ive heard of people going 12-12 from seed and seeing sex within a few weeks.(smaller plants/ smaller yeilds) I personally let my girl get to about 8-10" then i transplant to a bigger bucket ( 3-5 gallon ) and switch the light to 12-12. within a week or two she was popping flowers.

can i even vegetate with this light?

i hate to be this guy, but use the search feature or check out some stuff in the newbie section. we could all help you a lot by repeating what is already out there so its probably more expedient for you to just cruise over there yourself and ask for clarification if you need it further. good luck with your grow

I really can't help but to agree with choop... I understand the whole everyone learns differently thing, but C'MON!!! Just research like the main two or three things u need for a basic setup, and halogen is like the first one on the DO NOT USE FOR GROWING POT LIST.... I don't even know where to start on threads like this... I'd be sorry to be him too... But, good luck man... Grab some CFL'S and some pre-wired temporary lighting socket cord, and go nuts, AND RESEARCH A LIL' in your down time... ;-)

just remember joey the man, the bigger light, the more heat, more ventalation is going to be required. if you dont have a small fan to push the air around the room, i would def. consider getting a cheap small one.

the best advice i can give... get yourself some PH test strips, they are afordable and extremely easy to use and read. every time you water, your gonna wanna let some runoff come out of the bottom, not only does that help get rid of the added up nutes that have been building up in your soil (called leaching) but if gives you a nice puddle to test your runnoff PH.

between 6.5 and 7 is ideal, good luck, and may the stars watch over you.
