ok guys quick update on whats been going on so far in my grow... basically just water when i feel it gets dry about 2'' deep.. got a fan going in the room ... i germinated 4 seeds only 2 sprout.. i tried to germinate all 10 but these were the only ones that did anything. 1 plant is about twice as big as the other one... i guess it may be the mystery seed because i know white widow grows shorter and bushy from what i have seen ... i pretty much see a noticable difference in size everyday when i come to look at them ... they doing good , im not feeding them any nutes , juss water ph at about 6.. the room is about 70-75 range. have not hung the hps light yet , juss got a 42w cfl above each pot and 1 little hydrofarm uv light ... seems like they like it but i think im going to hang the hps in 2 days when they turn 2 weeks old... what do yall think i should start doin ? as far as nutes and lightin goes ... any other pointers ? let me know ... ill post pics tomorrow they wont upload for some reason tonight .

alright here she blows... 2 plants... pretty sure both are white widow ( they gave me an extra 10 bonus seeds of some unknown strain ) i germinated all the seeds but only 2 widows showed roots and 1 of the mystery did so i planted but i only got 2 plants... both are doing good... as you can see one is still smaller but they are both showing noticable growth. since i took this picture i took the floro light out of there and put the pots on top of a shoe box.. so now im juss blasting the hps on them ... i think they are both big enough to take it ...

does anyone think i should take them off the shoe boxes and go back to how it looks in the picture?

Maybe not watering enough, getting too hot or you could be getting the leaves wet during watering (could be a number of things) what's your ventilation like again? also I wouldn't go feeding any nutes just yet, at least until you figure out what's causing the yellowing leaves.

I had the same problem with the fan blowing on my plants because I couldn't place the fan that far from them, the leaves started lifting and the plants started to grow leaning, to correct this I rotated the plants frequently. it worked! after the plants/stems grow stronger the fan will not have this effect on them.

Good luck on your grow!

thank you... well right now i dont have any ventillation really. they are just sittin in the closet with the fan in there.. its a sliding glass closet and i dont know how i could install my exhaust i got... i was thinking about taking 1 of the sliding doors and putting up a piece of ply wood and cutting a hole in that... i cant cut into the wall... should i do that asap ? i usually get the leaves wet when i water.. should i not do this? the temp is reading 85 around the tops of the plants but lower its like 80... i may need to get on the exhaust if it could be a big problem .. ??

Yeah its good to have fresh air, replacing a peice of that glass sounds like a good plan, I would do that like right before you read this post. see if that helps cool things down.

Oh and at that age half a gallon could be too much, at that age I was watering mine one quart every 2- 3 days, dont need to get all the soil wet, just water around the stem and when the water is completley dry on top water again, this worked for me, I had a hard time with watering at first but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

14-20 days after germination I always watered with at least a 1/2 gallon for 3 gallon container plants.. every 3-10 days

BUT please don't take this as me saying I am right and HUMBOLT is wrong.. cause, all you have to do is look at his plants and you can see that his method is WORKING GREAT!

I was having trouble watering, my plants were looking pretty bad due to over watering and I read somewhere that plants (not sure about marijuana) grow better/faster if their roots are forced to search for water, so I started feeding them one quart per feeding every 2 -3 days, they did fine after that, obviously they will need more water as they grow, I've also heard that some people like to let the soil dry out before watering again, I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.

I try to post helpful and useful stuff, stuff that has worked for me, however every plant, grow room, environment etc. is different, so it's hard to determine what will work for the next person, that's why it's nice to get different opinions to help determine what will work best for you, specially from the pros, such as nongreenthumb, garden knowm and skunkushybrid.

If the nutes don't hurt them you should notice a differernce within a few days, btw what nutes did you feed them?

Here is an example of me over watering, the pic inside the pic is the before and in the other you'll see that I eased up on the watering.

I fed them a quart each until I had a hard time seeing the soil, after that I had to feed them a half gallon, now I'm feeding them any wheres from 1/2 gallon to a gallon, depending on how thirsty they are, not all the plants are the same, for example .. I may not have to water one but the other I will have to, some drink more then others.
