First Grow EVER. (CFL)

Im so excited to be starting my first grow. I would like to introduce myself. My name is boomstick, a native Vermonter. Im 23 years old. THIS IS MY FIRST GROW. Basically this site has giving me so much information on the 5 W's. WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN & WHY. So I figured I would register and post some pics to gain some feedback!!! So. I am doing a closet CFL grow. The reason I started was because I randomly threw about 15 seeds into a Pot outside of my appartment, and poof, ended up with 14 plants. SO i did some research and everything fell right into my lap. I have spent about $120 on my room. So please hook me up with your feedback because I am a newbie and I NEED YOUR HELP. Thanks a lot guys. I have uploaded an album of pictures so take a look!!!

It all looks good man but the one that is not right under the light will stretch long and skinny trying to get to the light, You should put it directly under the light, and dont forget that out of 8 plants the odds are that only 3 maybe 4 will be female. I just dont want you to be disapointed when you have to kill and destroy the males. it sukx.

exactly thats jus the shit that happens but instead of killing them put them far far away so theres no chance of pollination like outside and you can selectiviely pollinate for seed production and make hash out of the males jus a thought
 
Yea but his first grow i think he would end up with a plant full of seeds cuz he prolly will end up having pollen on his hands or in the air and they will end up pregnant. lol. i was going to try that to, like pollenate one branch maybe, but i think his is bagseed if its widow, ak 47 ,disel somthing good i might try it again or a hermie pollen will give you feminized seeds
 
Done. Even better news. Vermont is having an Bulb Energey Effeficeny sale. SO i paided $1.07 for 4 DAYLIGHT 14w CFL bulbs. What a deal. I found the splitters for almost 3 each. So im thinking of going and purchasing another fixture to hang so i can have 6 more bulbs. This will be on WED though ~

Current Setup -
3 CFL 42W Soft
3 CFL 14W Daylight

Ill probly end up getting 6 of the DAYLIGHT bulbs because of how cheep they are right now, I will end up paying 2.14 for 8 of them so no choice.:)

it is really hard to control pollen from males jus a tad and your whole crops got seeds
but if you end up with some males and wanna try it go for it but read up as im sure you already have its more complicated than it sounds

but yeah man try to get as many lumens in cfls ya can afford its worth it come flower and im sure you already understand the whole 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower rule but a mix never hurts:weed:
 
I understand, but WHERS THE FAITH!! :) Right now im mixing it up to get more lumens. On Wed i will be adding 6 more bulbs. I just took some new pictures of the new 6 bulb setup. I also took down the foil on your discression ! Also some more pics of the babies as well, uploading as we speak.

About that pollen situation. I have read a lot about it, and i think for my first crop I am going to stay away from it. If I do, I already have my jar and q-tip ready. Right now im working on a spot for a male to keep for seeds. More then likley it will be put outside and let nature take its coarse on it. I only have 2 closets in my place and my girl def will not approve of letting me use her closet! (especially for males!! lolol)


ALSO for those that do not get enough light atm, I have my 3 OTT Lites (True Color High Def) over them. It does what it needs and right now the plants are under rotation. They still recieve light from the CFL's but also directly over them is the OTT Lite. The OTT lights were the only thing giving this little girls light for the first weeks of there life, and they seem to be doing great. I was really impressed about the OTT Light. 13W bulb True Color High Defination Bulb.

lol yeah we got faith were jus statin reality man its pretty crucial lol yeah on the walls look into mylar or flat white paint itll be good to have some reflection jus not foil it causes hot spots ya kno lol

on the male thing if ya use one for seeds you have to sacrifice a bud or two on the ladies to get some jus dont let him screw em all ya kno well help when the time comes
 
I hear ya! This is why im probly going to stay away from it this grow. I cant thank you enough for the input already, what a great help. Photos will be up soon, camera battery is charging.


And for the NUT. I already have Miracle Gro Organic Choice All purpose Plant Food Concentrate.
Total Nitrogen - 8%
5.4% Other Water Soluble Nitrogen
2.6% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
Derived from fermented sugar beet molasses
 
hell man theres a lot more knowledgeable people on here than me for sure i can never learn enough ya kno lol

oh and jus a tip man you kinda gotta take shit people say on here with a grain of salt youll kno what i mean when ya spend a lil time on here lol

dude im sorry im just saying its very hard to keep a male plant from pollinating a female, you can be outside the air will blow pollen in your hair and it will fall off on your plant , she will produce seeds instead of THC so that makes the potency go down, i was just saying get rid of the males, who wants to TRY and let there first grow get all seedy.
The possibility is YES, male pollen can travel for miles and pollinate your females, that is given a good wind. And I give a thumbs up to Dr. Greenthumb (no pun!), male plants are pretty much worthless and do not produce buds.

Hay boom you can get mylar at the dollar store or some kind of cheap store like that but it is in the present wrapping department look for the shiny kind it looks like red or blue chrome wrapping paper, use the back of it, its shiny chrome and its the same thing and u get a rollof it for about a dollar or two
 
there ya go gettin those lights goin those and your others will get ya thru veg for sure man how long you gonna vegg for bro
 
Im not sure, im starting to plan that now. Suggestions on vegg? im thinking another week. Im going to be doubling that light output. Ive decided to put another one of those exact light setups in. 12,900 lumens ATM, so it will jump to 25,800. + the OTT lites at 800 each. This will happen on WED.
 
if ya got the money id go for the hps for flowering for and use the cfls around the sides who says ya have to have small lower buds hahaha

another week would make it a month rite? that should be good its really based on the space cus they double or triple in size during flower so be prepared for that , hell theres guys im sure youve seen em growin foot tall plants 15 20 at a time in solo red cups on 12/12 from seed so goin a month youll get a bigger yield

mines only been flowering for 11 days but they started back in may 15 or so like 2 and a half veg outside and hopefully done by mid september inside cant wait lol
