First Grow Ever- Aerogarden Veggie Pro (help and advice Appreciated)

I Have a Deluxe Aerogarden.
Recipe for Success kit
Airstone/Air Pump
ph tester
Lights:120v,60hz,26w

Do i leave the AeroGarden Pump connected when using this seperate pump? Also the Airstone That i have is a long stick about 15 inches.

I put my seeds in the spongy soil material that came with the aerogarden.

Plz help thanks

the pump is up to you leave it on for more air or cut it off and save electricity.
how long ago did you start?

I do not use the AeroGarden Pump; 100% AirPump/AirLine/Stones.

Thanks paul. I had a plant growing in the backyard for about a month i took it out when i got the aerogarden. This was the plants 3rd week but it died it was having troubles all 3 weeks.. Roots grew more looked good than leafs started changing color n so on



But now this is the set Up that i have Now..

Airstone/Airpump
Small Fan
Technaflora Recipe for success kit.. Now i jus planted 3 seeds do i need to use any of the recipe for success kit items now or no?


Any other info would be helpful. Here is some pics of my setupight now my temp is 82 n humidity 41% i have the fan on low.... is that ok for now those temps?

Hard to see but there is a small black fan in the pic. N the Gray Mouse looking thing is the air pump. N the long blue stick is my cheap Airstone?.. Any Tips??

yaeh man everything looks good to go id just say try and get your temps down into the 70s i know it might be hard cause cost of ac and all but ive been told anywhere in the mid 70s with anywhere from 40-60 percent humidity will do jst fine

so i named my plants today the large one is zahara and the smaller one is zelenka. zahara means flower and zelenka means little innocent one.




oh and i almost forgot a little bit of lst action on my little one only tried for a day because she had a little accident with lights falling on her but ive stopped until she gets larger

ACtually.......I cut it off one and not off the other. The one that I cut, the roots went right down into the water. The one that I didn't cut, the roots got caught in the moss and started getting smashed, not finding the water. Could have just been my bad luck, but that's what happened. I had to cut the nub off the second one and I sorta took the roots and pointed them down toward the water. That fixed it.

Now, my little clones...one of them just started growing all kinds of roots out of the SIDES of the moss....so.....that makes me think....wtf do I know LOL

Thanks for your tips! I cut the sponges in half and cut off the bottom (about 3/4 inch) and within a day they had sprouted out! I put 1/2 starter tab of nutrients a week (changing the water out weekly) and after 2 weeks increased to 1 starter tab. The lighting schedule is 18/6. I also tinfoiled my closet really tight so I dont lose too much light. I have to say though, I don't have a ph tester or anything else! I didnt buy anything in addition to the aerogarden. I'm surprised that my plants are turning out so good even though I didnt buy the additional recommended tools. I will have to get a timer though when I move from 18/6 to 12/12. Anyways check these out!

Does anyone know how to tell if the plant is male or female?

they look good......and you wont be able to tell wether they are male or female until you change your light cycle but dont rush into because if they are female youll want them to grow up to big girls.

Do you know why sometimes leaves look a bit paler green? like almost lime green? the other plant is a darker leafier green :S

im not sure exactly but it has to do with the amount of nutrients the plant is getting.

so its been quite some time since ive posted pics been busy but pics will be up very soon. im about a week into 12/12 no such luck on the sex yet. i also topped the plants and took a shot a cloning one has for sure roots and the other one im not sure about but the plants are doing good one has a little deformity but i think hes guna be alright.

those poor plants are trying so hard. honestly id recommend no nutes till flower. just control ph/temps/lighting/humidity through veg and once you see those pre-flower pistils then go 1/8-1/4 nutes. never more than 1/2 strength even in 12/12. youve got a resilient plant and that aero system seems to work well enough. so far its just user error. the burned edges will not fade, but new growth will tell you how its coming along. if it still has discoloration like it does now you may need to flush. take some time to search others posts on these forums and youll find more answers than youll know what to do with. good luck.

note: all the stress/trauma the plant has to suffer through lengthens your growth time. it will slow everything down including sexing.
