Congrats, you have a seedling.

Be careful you dont overwater it. I didnt see an air pump. It looked like rockwool under the hydroton and If your water is not oxygenated she could drown.

I would turn your light sideways and lower it a few inches.

Good Luck

Thanks... I actually just lowered the light about five minutes ago! There is an air pump... If you look close you can see the bubbles coming up through the stones. I didn't use rockwool to start it because I could not find any locally. Instead, I used a cotton ball, set up the whole system and made sort of a crater in the stones. Then I filled the water to the bottom of the crater. I took the cotton ball, wet it, and then made like a little nest in the bottom of the crater. I placed the seed in the nest and made sure that the cotton stayed wet while the seed sprouted. Then as the seedling grew I filled in around it with stones. In these pictures you can see a bit of the cotton. Under the surface of the stone is about an inch to an inch and a half of plant. I figured that it would give it more support and since its still in the seedling stage it will eventually have more root structure which means more nute's and better product. But then again I could be totally wrong and my shit will shrivel up and die! HAHAHA!

I would lower that water a little bit. The bubbles popping will mist the cotton and feed the roots what they need instead of drowning them. What u did is fine for a sprout but now its time to lay off the water a little.
Get some more light. Atleast 4 23 watt cfl(not soft white, natural white or cool white). Keep the lights right next to the plant (within 2 inches, but about 1/2-1in away) or it will stretch and flop over. PH your water. This is not as big of a deal in the first weeks as it will be after that. A simple kit with PH up and PH down and a tester can be bought for under $20 at a fish store or pet shop.

Order some rockwool online for next time. It will help u out a lot...

You should move this thread over to grow journals. U will get more of a response there and more consistent info. More traffic goes thru there IMO
