Well thanks to a few members I decided to start my own journal and get this thing going.
Not only am I new to the forum. I'm new to growing in general, so any help or tips will be much appreciated!
I picked up some regular short rider seeds a few months ago and decided to germ 4 and see how it goes.
Its pretty amazing the progress so far but I know its only the begining!!

Here's a quick run down of the box.
4-29w 5500k cfl's
1-42w 2700k cfl "for now"

2-120mm 80cfm fans 160cfm total "both are hooked up as exhaust now, started off one intake and one exhaust."

1-5"x14" passive intake

1-10" ocillating fan

These where started off in paper towels popped within the first 48 hours, moved to rockwool cubes after sprouting they where transplanted to 1L pots with FFoF potting soil. I've read nothing but good things about fox farms so I decided to give it a try.

If these pictures work, these where a couple days old and my first attempt at setting up the cab.

The 2 on the left in the last photo's are the indoor plants I'm doing I just threw the third one in for a little extra light. I believe they broke ground around the 25th so that would make them 5 days old in these pictures I'm about to throw up, 2 days old in those pictures above. The young ones have basically already caught up to the 2 outdoor that I germed on mothersday, They were two weeks old on friday from breaking ground. So here's a couple pics of a few things I've done to get the temps down and of the riders:hump:

Thanks for dropping in chainseeker! I hope it goes well too.

I forgot to add that I just started feeding them alaskin fish emulsion, "which is probably one of the worst smelling things out there lol.." Feeding at 1/4 strength for the first few days then will move up as they get older.

I'm thinking of going with Fox farms tiger bloom for flowering but I'm open to any suggestions!

Hey man!

So far looks really good! We have used foxfarm from the start and love the products. We only had grow big and big bloom though. I was unable to aquire the Tiger Bloom. If it performs like the other products though....you should be fine!

Keep up the great work!

I'm glad to hear you had good results with FFoF and nutes, thanks for the info!

I did want to try the grow big aswell but I figure I'll try that on my next grow poissibly with big bloom and tiger bloom. I was a little confused about wether I should get tiger bloom or big bloom for flowering, if I was going to pick one which would you recommend?

Yo smelly what's going on any luck with temps. I would recommend putting ur intake at the bottom and exhaust at the top. That way fresh air goes through the whole cab plus as the hot air rises it will be sucked out. Seems like that big fan up top will blow the hot air right back down on your plant. Just trying to help a grower out so hit me up anytime.

So far it seems to be holding around 85-86 with about a 5-6 degree difference from ambient temps which are anywhere from 78-83.

In the first pics those where the only intake and exhaust fans in the box, since then I swithced both to exhaust and cut the big passive intake hole at the bottom that you cant see in the pics. It seemed to help drop a few degrees but thats only if I angle the fan at the very top to point straight down toward the exhaust and intake holes, almost pointing back at the wall "which didn't make much sense to me lol.."

With the old exhaust and intake fan setup and without the passive intake I moved the fan to blow across the top of the pots and toward the exhaust fan, you would think this would be sufficient but it shot up to 90 within minutes..??

I'm actually glad that you said something because I have two ideas, move the fan in the same area and try the same thing as I didn't originally and blow the air toward the two exhaust fans now. Or stick the fan at the bottom of the cab and have it blow in the cold air from the passive intake.. Or get another fan and try both!

If you have any other suggestion or Ideas that would be great! Do you think it would be worth moving the exhaust fans to the very top or just leave them and try this first? THey are fairly high in the box, keep in mind I plan on having at least one of those crates removed with this grow. Hopefully both:)

Yeah it's hard to say cuz all cab r so different. I'm confident you'll have a nice successful grow this round. I'd say a 5-6 deg difference in ambient temps to cabs temps is about all you could ask for should be fine the way it is. Just takes some time to dial things in. Let me know if I can help. Maybe someone will invent mini A/C unit like 100 btu's just for cab grower LOL. Peace

LoL that would solve all our problems:mrgreen:

Yea I actaully tried moving the fan all around again and it seems to be the best still at the top blowing straight down along the back wall but I didn't have much time so I might try a few more things tomorrow.

I was also thinking maybe the hot air is building up at the top, thats why when I move the ocilating fan it builds up more heat in the cab.. So maybe if I put the one lower exhaust fan at the very top and then move the ocilating fan, "or leave it." maybe the will help..??

Like you said though thats probably as good as its gonna get. Well without adding extra fans and more $$. I think I will stick with this setup until next grow then maybe throw a 4" muffin fan in there and see if that helps with the temps. I'll probably be doing another batch of short riders so I should be able to compare the different temps and how it affects the growth, if I am able to get the temps down.

As of now I am more than happy and just crossing my finger for at least one female.

I do have the two outdoor short riders but I'm battling with bugs right now so my hopes arn't as high with those..

Time to go burn one and look at the babies:joint::hump:

Thanks for droping in concord. They seem to be pretty healthy still, so far so good! Temps held just above 85 throughout the morning, can't wait till they start showing flowers!
I started them on 18/6 light they've now been on 20/4 for the last three or four days. I'm hoping they give me a little time to veg but does anyone know if these are a true autoflower or not? If they don't show sex by the 6th week I guess I will switch the lights to 12/12.

remember, you can grow most autos under any schedule, 12/12, 18/6, or 24/7 for the whole grow if you want, they more or less have a set lifespan. i think 20/4 is what i will go with when i get some, they do still need a little dark. this is all from stuff i've read about them.

Thanks bro, you pick up any of that fish emulsion yet? Man that stuff will make you gag lol.. Its not bad at all once it drains but damn, have a spot picked outside to water them lol..

Thanks for the tip concord, yea I'm probably going to keep them on the 20/4 because they seem to be resonding well to the little bit of rest they do get. I tried leaving you guys rep points but I cant leave anymore I guess till I spread it around lol..

I was actually thinking of throwing some clones that I'm able to get ahold of in there, I just don't want to take up to much room. I was thinking of grabbing two clones one for outside and one under the 20/4 lights to keep her a mother:) But then it might get kinda crazy in my little cab lol.. What do you guys think? Take advantage of the clones while I can?

thabks treeZ, ok been doing some more reading and for the most part, the pro growers say that you cant/dont want to clone an autoflowering plant. the reason is that the cutting will be the same age as the plant it came from and flower but weaker and there for not worth cloning and will still die at the same time. heres the links to some of the posts. i have been reading up on this because i want to try an auto strain next.

I actually read that already in paranoids journal, Got the link from you lol.. Good lookin out though, I would be kicking myself if I would have cloned these. "I was planning on it too before I read that link!" That is what made me realize I really didn't want to try any lst or topping seeing I'm a newb and I want as less stunting as possible!

I'm actually picking up some indica/sativa bagseed clones from some pretty good stuff. Your right chainseeker wtf was I thinkin, the more bud the better lol.. I'll throw up some pics when I get them. They've been sitting under 12/12 for a while now though, probably about 3 weeks since cut. Will that matter?
