First Grow - BCN Diesel Auto / 8 Ball Kush / Pineapple Chunk - Flowering Day 7

Being that mine only vegged for about 2 weeks before 12/12, she didnt get above 2 1/2 feet. Here are some pics Harvest day and some after drying. Amazing smoke with loads of rezin content. I had a friend that said he didnt enjoy the taste.... Idk why but maybe hes use to dirt wee\\d.... I think the sativa high is something every grower should experience. Cut one plant at 50% amber and try it out. Not bad I must say.

Hey man, are these pics of the 8ball kush? Sorry I never offered any insight on tying down. Basically you just tie down the plant anyway you can to get more light to all the bud sites. As far as supporting the 8ball kush (or future grows if you already harvested), just gently put a stick vertically into your medium, close to the main stem. Make sure the stick is thin so you don't damage the roots when you put it into the soil. Also make sure the stick is as long as your plant. You can tie the cola to the stick as if it were a splint.

What strain was your friend smoking when he said he didn't like it? And how long after harvest was it? My first impression was that the bud may not be cured enough after drying. The bud will lose a lot of smell and it will taste like raw plant before you cure (roughly 2-3 weeks, or longer for even better results). The smell and taste all comes back during curing.

One last thing... I bought a $3 magnifying lens at Walmart -- it's only like a 6x lens, no where near a 30x lens like everyone says to get. I held the lens up to my 3.2 megapixel cellphone camera, zoomed in all the way on the camera and snapped some pics of the nugs; then sent the original sized pics to my computer where I could view a ridiculously large version of the picture. I got a perfect view of the trichomes. It's a nice, cheap little way to monitor the color of your trichomes at the end of the flowering process. Perhaps you're already aware of this, but although growers often eye-out their harvest according to the % of red hairs, you really want to harvest based on the % of amber-tipped trichomes. If you want a more energized, sativa-like high, harvest once you see several amber trichomes or less than 50% amber trichomes in a single camera shot w/ the mag lens. For a more couch lock, indica-like high, harvest once you see 50% or more amber colored trichomes in a single camera shot. Don't get me wrong, eying-out the % of red hairs works fine for many people, but if you want to get picky, this is the way to do it w/o breaking the bank. I strongly recommend this method, because red hairs will grow in plenty before the trichomes start to really turn amber, so you'll still get that sativa-like high you enjoy. If you want the best smoke/smell/taste, you gotta let that bud finish.

Looking forward to the rest of the grow man

I really appreciate help. I had no clue the 8-ball Kush would get so heavy. She is havested and made for a decent smoke, but i'm absolutely letting the Pineapple chunk finish up. Since i'm moving soon and with the small grow space, I'm happy to just have her left and to let her finish even if she does flower for 100+ days as i've seen in other journals. I have an update for her and I will post a diagram of the 5 gallon bucket shes in. Its perlite till half way and soil the rest. I also bought another pump and two air stones and ran them along the side halfway down in the perlite. I'm hoping this will promote root growth and bigger buds. It seems to help drain the water as well. I have just recently flushed the PC because as others stated, she is very sensitive to nutes. :( Here are the pics, Shes doing great and I estimate at least 3 weeks before chop.

So I have germ'd my last seed its Kannabia Big Band Fem. A cross between a Cali Sativa male and Bubblegum. I made a DIY waterfarm for $50. I also bought a third pump with 2 ports and 2x 12" air stones. When the PC is done I will remove the two pumps and air stones and move them to my farm. Tell me what you think.

I was wanting to know how much your 8 ball kush you vegged for 2 weeks ended up producing in the end? Planning on growing and been looking at that strain. Thanks!!

Sorry I haven't been on here in forever. I'm not exactly sure but I remember it being a little over an ounce. I should have pushed it longer but it was deff a good pick. I'd do it again that's for sure.

That plant looks great. Really nice set up! I'm jealous lol. You will absolutely be satisfied with the smoke she produces. Its sweet but earthy as well. Like a sweet kush almost. I'm currently growing GreenHouse White Widow. I will post the link so you can check it out.
