First Grow - Bagseed, Aerogarden, Supplemental CFLs

This is my first grow, just as an experiment until I can get a real grow up and running. I've been reading these forums for a few weeks and have my first bagseed beginning to grow. Only one of the three I had from a killer 1/4 has shown a taproot and I put it in the AG about a week ago. She's started out slow but the last day or so seems to be gettin going.

My plan is to see how it grows and hopefully do some LST or even a ScrOG.

I've got my broke-ass setup goin now. I have the lights on 20/4 right now with the reservoir full of pH'ed water and nutes (a small addition of AN Grow nutes, to see how the plant reacts). There are 5 supplemental cfl bulbs going now in addition to the AG hood (which I'm considering doing away w/ altogether in favor of a couple more 42w bulbs that would hang above.

Still thinking about what to make my ScrOG screen out of.....

Check out the new setup and the new growth.

(and yes that is an emergency blanket lining the cabinet :wall: not great but it will do)

So it's been another stretch here and Annie is lookin a little rough. She's not growing very quickly and the top is starting to look a little yellow. The pH is fine and the temps are relatively steady in the high 70s and low 80s. The only thing I can think of that could be the culprit is overfeeding. I've been going w/ the cuttings/seedling mix of AN Grow (~.75 tsp/gal).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply KNS, I've flushed with bottled water and I'm going to see how she looks in the morning.

After flushing with bottled water and leaving overnight, the top leaves have perked back up (although they're still yellow). I'm going to leave her in plain water with no nutes until I see signs that they're needed.

So I've been running on no nutes for a day or so and she's (fingers crossed) making some progress. Still a bit yellow but I think she's on the upswing.

Pics below.

So there has been a decent amount of growth over the last couple of days but there seems to be a problem still. I'm still running bottled water with no nutes. I've attached some pics. The leaves are browning on the very tips, not sure why.

So it's been a while, been busy round the way. :bigjoint:

I've upgraded from the aerogarden's weak lights and built a real cab that I can grow in. I've gotten my hands on some shortryders and some freebies that I have growing alongside my bagseed girl Annie.

First off, Annie updates. I think I've gotten a handle on the nute situation as all new growth is looking great. I topped her right as the 5 node grew out and it's turned out great.

I've got 3 Shortryders and 3 Freebies growing in hempy cups in my veg chamber and all are growing, although with various degrees of quickness. The tubing you see snaking around the cups is an auto-watering system I made with a small pump and 1/2 gallon drippers.

I have a 250w HPS in my flowering chamber above and I'm thinking of moving Annie up to the flowering chamber soon. Gonna be running a htg can fan / carbon filter combo in the top.

Pics below! Comments welcome!

First off good job looks a lot better than my first grow, Second whats going on with the card board? not trying to be an ass just curious.

haha cardboard was a quick and dirty light blocker to keep the light from the veg/mother chamber from getting to the flowering when it was supposed to be dark. I'm going to be upgrading to come solid board installed with nails eventually to lightproof everything (b/t chambers and light escaping from the cab).

Highdeas don't always seem great the next day :eyesmoke:

Nice that wouldn't be a bad idea. For the most part your right lol I came home tonight and high and freaked the fuck out because I have a pest inspection in the morning. I started putting garbage bags on my plants and marching them to my car.. Turns out its in two weeks haha It's a love hate thing with me. Sub scribed

So I'm trying to decide where to go from here. My flowering chamber should be ready later this week or early next week and I'd like to put my bagseed plant in and turn it to 12/12.

I'm also trying to decide if I should take some clones from the bagseed or if I should just put her into flower and try some LST and then clone some of the freebies I got from Nirvana when they get bigger.

What do you guys think?

So I've been cruising along here for the last couple of weeks. The top flowering chamber is close to finished at last and I've moved Annie up there and fired up the 250w HPS. She responded very well, with tons of new growth. Recently though, she's developed some kind of deficiency. I think it might be a Zinc def, what do you guys think?

The ShortRyder and Freebies are moving along well, 1 of the freebies isn't gonna make it so I'm gonna pull it but other than that, everything is moving along nicely.

Picks below of Annie, the new flower cab, and the seedlings below.
