I'd wait till u have 2-3 sets of leaves. The bigger your plant the less chance of shocking it with the transfer.

You want to wait until the plants start to become root bound. If you transplant too early then the root ball will just collapse when the cup is removed. You want the soil and roots to come out cleanly in a cup shape. Are the plants in full party cups or did you cut them down? I'd guess another 2 maybe 3 wks if their in a full cup. Also seems like a waste of water and nutes to go directly into a 5gal.

I cut the red cups in half. The soil in the cup seems likes its starting to take the cups figure. Will probably be root bound in another week, maybe less.
And im going directly into 5 gal so I dont have to transplant more than once, figured it would stress her out and be a hassle..
How would I be wasting water and nutes?
Also, should I be giving her any darkness time now? I was planning on starting 18/6 when i transplanted..

The way I see it is you're having to water/feed a large volume when your root ball/plant is very small. I'm not saying it won't work it just seems wasteful. In soil I did root plugs-party cup-1gal-3gal. Are you 24/0 right now? I believe in dark time during veg and use 20/4. Its a personal preference and works for me. I just wouldn't make too many changes to your lighting schedule during the grow. Best of luck.

Im running 24/0 right now and plan to change to 18/6 after shes 2-3 weeks old, depending on the root ball.

Looking very healthy! If it were me I would wait about 1-2 weeks before transplanting, it doesn't look like that plant is close to filling out the cup yet. I would also recommend doing a transplant into a smaller pot than 5 gallon, maybe a 1 gallon. If you are going to go straight to a 5 gallon, I would form the hole the plant will be placed into then mix in a couple handfulls of perlite into the bottom and sides of the hole before dropping the plant in. Water it in after that and you shouldn't have a problem with it getting water logged (a risk putting a tiny plant in a 5 gallon).

Keep doing what you're doing man, looking healthy. I'll be glad to see your progress in a month or two, I've been strongly considering this cultivar to kick of '14 but haven't heard much outside of CC being legit.
I may have been poisoned by advertisers and the like trying to move containers, but I was always under the impression you should step up your containers somewhat gradually (e.g. quart to 1 gal to 3 gal) or something of that nature. I only ever jumped from cups to 2 gallons my first run ever and it wasn't a terribly successful grow. I have read of similar experiences as well, but I'm sure there were also other factors at play. Of course the other benefit is not having to feed and water a lot of rootless mix while your plant fills it out. I've heard good things about those cloth bags/smart bags/etc. much love bro

For sure, thats why I went with the smart pots. More oxygen to the roots. And now ill have more oxygen in my water for the roots too lol, got that pump up and running
Im going to wait till i have 5 sets of leaves and then transplant straight to the 5 gal. I will also be throwing perlite in my plants new seat in the 5 gal, to avoid water logging.
Basically, im placing an EMPTY red cup on top of the 5 gal. Then I will remove the empty red party cup from the soil so im left with a perfect hole for my girl to fill in on the 5 gal.
Inside the perfectly formed hole is where the perlite will go correct? Then transplant her straight on top of the perlite?
Sorry if I confused anyone. But I think I have the right idea lol.

Keep updating, but just let 'er grow for now. Don't worry about transplanting or topping for another week, at least. Don't let me stop you from your perlite transplant method, but where did you hear that from? Or read it from? Got a link? Just never heard of it personally. I do know there's plenty of ways to do things, I just find simple is best. I might be missing something though.

Day 18, temp at 76. Humidity at 60%, a lil high i think. Should i turn the speed of my inline fan up? Its only on 60% so its about half speed.
Shes starting to pick up it seems. Leaves are luscious green, no signs of deficiency yet.
I was wondering when I should give her a little feeding.
Only using b-52 in veg. I was thinking about picking up some calmag. Better to have and not need it then need it and not have it...

Wow. Looks like its really grown, good job. It maybe ready to transplant. You could check by pulling the plant from the cup a little. Looking for root bound. Plant it deep when you transplant, I'd remove those tiny bottom leaves in day 16 pic and bury it up to there.
